This man was a military genius

Before General Robert Baden-Powell founded the Boy Scouts, he was a colonel in the British Army stationed in Mafekeng, South Africa, during the Anglo-Boer War.
He led the defence of the town of Mafekeng during the Afrikaaner siege and deployed incredibly clever military tactics which made the Boer forces believe they had no chance of success in a direct assault on the town.
The siege lasted 217 days, but many lives were saved thanks to General Baden-Powell's sharp military mind.
