The mangaka's ability to portray the terror that Seiichi feels towards his mother is truly exceptional. It doesn't matter if you are frightened by the mother or not, you feel the dread for the character The chapter in the court room truly broke me. Such a visceral gut punch that I haven't experienced in a manga since. It's going to be interesting to see how the character develops past the time skip. I'm hoping for a sliver of happiness for him and also for Yukio to return

Yeah dude . After I saw Fushiki married and having 2 child's . My mind just got into more despair after seeing Seichi at that moment . I hope that Seichi and Fushiki get together . And also I think that she is a widow now cuz Fushiki was in graveyard which means either her husband is dead or her father is dead . I hope his husband is dead cuz I want Seichi to end up with her and have a happy life towards 😭

Trail of Blood, or Blood on the Tracks, depends what you prefer, is such an unsettlingly... human story. I'd say my favourite part of it is the way Shuzo Oshimi draws expressions. I love the panels where Seiichi is looking around, as if for help, with sweat rolling down his cheeks. It conveys fear incredibly. If you ask me, the way each of the series by Shuzo Oshimi is portrayed, is painting a picture on someone's mental state, which makes it harder to adapt. It isn't playing with something like depression or sadness or anything like that, it is dealing with full blown psychotic breakdowns. The art, the themes, it isn't able to get an anime. Some stories just aren't fit for it. Live action maybe, but not anime. I've yet to finish the first volume of Blood on the Tracks, but everytime I flip through the pages I get chills from the art. It's really incredible. Thanks for a great year Sufferents, hope you're having a great holiday and enjoying time with family and friends. Keep up the good videos, I always watch out for when you recommend series I've read or haven't, and I love commenting my thoughts. Happy holidays to everyone else too!

You were so spot on about everything regarding Inio Asano and Shizuo Oshimi. I experienced very similar to what you describe in this video after growing up reading Oyasumi Pun Pun and being pretty consumed by Inio Asano literature. I saw the thumbnail for Trail of Blood on one of your videos and have waited to watch them until after reading. Currently catching up past 111 and very icy anticipating the continued illustration of of the portrayal of mental health.

I read blood on the tracks sometime this year, in one word I found the story addicting, reading the relationship between the mother and child taking a wholesome relationship and turning it to something twisted instantly went on my top manga list. I need to get back into the manga perhaps starting over again ,as always this has been a top tier video

Indeed its an Masterpiece I agreed the depiction of a pure true toxic parental relationship is this manga how the person who must protect you becomes your biggest worse enemy not in the physical level cause physical pain can be heal over time but to the even next level that is mental level the destruction of this kid in every single chapter takes away something from him and assemble complete his mother full picture is just genius its crazy that how realistic it feels people with traumatic childhood with their parents would definitely will feel sore connection to it 9.20/10

This series had an interesting story about a mother and child relationship in which the unsettling part about it is how it shows a mother can manipulate a child. This changes as the story progresses and where it's at currently is quite interesting to say the least.

I think that its good for people to read this because mothers like this are more common than we might think, without the killing of course. A lot of stomach churning moments. However, I dont know if its a good read for those who have had childhood trauma... it really is some incredible writing/artwork because its so realistic. Its scary and so sad that children have gone through this type of abuse. When I read Jennette Mccurdy's book, I couldnt believe how much it is a lot like this.. no child deserves this or anythinf remotely close😔 You know it's incredibly good writing when you feel hate towards the mother. I wanted to go into the book and strangle the woman!

I think the timeskip was a good idea since he’s just in the juvenile center until he’s out. I like how they made him seem mellowed out but no self worth only for them to show that he’s only like that because mentally he created a version of his cousin that wants him to suffer by living. I’m interested in how exactly they handle those emotions as an adult. The father pissed me off because he’s only there because of a business trip, not because he cared. He’s ashamed of his wife and Seichi, but want the appearance of being a normal family.
