From speaking with the dealer I have bought several Maserati’s from, the dealers all bought too many cars last year and Maserati was greedy with rebates along with raising prices across the board. Resulted in a glut of unsold vehicles. Didn’t matter to Maserati as once the dealers buy the cars, they’re off the hook. But this year, the dealers collectively bought very few cars and MNA was stuck with thousands of cars at port. They’ve now had to give HUGE rebates just to get the dealers to move the cars on the 2024’s. Then they’re hitting the reset button. No more Ghibli. Reinventing the QP to be slightly smaller (but bigger than the Ghibli), and redoing the Levante to be bigger to separate from the Grecale. The EVs are not selling well at all as people like the growl. Going to be an interesting couple of years.

The auction took place already on Friday morning. Since the reason is dealer closure, I would not bid if I were interested in any of the cars because that kind of sale is without any warranty or assured access to service.

Maserati and Alfa are headed for the history books. Pretty soon either they will be sold off, or shut down. And I called it 4 years or more ago!

A new Maserati could never be a good deal because as soon as you drive any of them off the lot it’s worth 75% less than MSRP.

Sounds like the end of Maserati. Sad to see, but their cars are too expensive and many are old designs that haven't aged well, such as Levante. Unfortunately, their latest models, the MC-20 and Gran Turisimo are stunningly good. It seems that soon we'll only have German high end cars available.

One of the things that has held me back from buying a Maserati or QV is the fear that my local dealer would close his doors under continued downward market pressure. Is this dealer liquidation a sign of things to come in the US? And thanks for the great info as always, Ron.

I traded in my Stelvio because in the SF Bay Area, we went from 6 Alfa Romeo dealers to 2. And one of those two has been hinting they will be closing. Soon, no dealerships selling these Italian cars will exist. Then everyone who owns one won't be able to service their cars. Stellantis ruined these companies.
