Cassette players all had a direct aux input if you were good with soldering. I used to download mp3s and have a headphone jack. Now I Bluetooth and stream from KZbin and it sounds like garbage but is convenient.

Cassette with wire connect to ipod , that's what I did on my 2002 nissian pathfinder. I loved my collection of tapes but always wanted new song so had to download into ipod. And then play in car. This is the new version of that.

Bluetooth itself is laggy, but it doesn't matter unless you need it to sync to video. The real concern is the low quality of all bt audio. SOLUTION: JUST PLUG YOUR PHONE IN VIA USB.

I stopped using Apple carplay as I don't see a benefit. Google maps are large but you can not add points or cancel or zoom. Eventually, the phone experience is superior. Audio through Bluetooth is doing the job. Did I miss any thing?
