On a small pit, yes, as you usually can't stick the charcoal chimney in to dump the coals. I definitely needed that on my Brazos. But on this pit, you have plenty of space to do that without having an opening up top.

@Fatty's Feasts & Funnies I'm not an expert but I have seen sooooo many pit walkthroughs, I feel like the welds are just a little more consistent on the WH. I don't think PP is necessarily bad or not quality. I just have seen a few more inconsistencies compared to the Workhorse. Is it worth the extra like $1000......no. Do I think it works as well, probably.

I am getting rid of my Oklahoma Joe Highlander and just picked up a Pecos. Now I just need to figure out how to get this plate that they welded in out of the cooking chamber. I am hoping that I'll be able to get some decent barbecue out of this. I am wanting to extend the smoke stack but the baffle is not like the Brazos. You can't just slide the pipe inside of the smoke stack without running into the baffle.

I know 😂 I was more referring to other companies that make higher end backyard models. I just don't understand some of their products that Oklahoma Joes puts out. There is barely any space and I don't understand how you can run an efficient fire with the lack of surface area. So weird.

@@Dan-fc1nc that's for their non-wagon model. Their website doesn't specify for each model add on. I have the shipping manifest with the exact weight, and confirmed the weight for different versions with the delivery driver who weighed it and delivered 100's of pits. Regardless of the weights, both are phenomenal pits, priced very well.
