Thank you Will! With everything in life, you just need to push through initial study inertia and it’ll cascade.

Thank you will for your advice and motivations, this is just what I needed. I am about to step into HSK2 after nearly 4 months of studying HSK1. Even just still at this beginner stage it can be very mentally challenging and even I will admit I've just wanted to sulk and throw the towl in. But your advice has elevated my optimism and can do attitude, right when I need it most. I have taken on board all that you have said, even from your previous videos I've watched today. And I'm looking forward to implementing all these new study techniques and setting more balanced healthy mandarin learning goals. Yes you have even taught me to be more realistic in my approach and cabaliblies of my language learning journey. Don't put unessesary pressure on the self. Just little achievable goals daily is enough to build steady progress. It's not about quantity, about consistency. Many thanks Will 😄

Thanks will, helpful video even for us intermediate learners。 I've been studying Mandarin for almost 2 years. For the 1st year I was consistent with Studying every day for 90 minutes. But for the last 6 months after reaching intermediate level I struggle to stay consistent.

Same. I'm at the two year point as well. Too advanced for all the beginners classes out there but not advanced enough to enjoy regular Chinese content without subtitles etc.

What a beautiful video 😊 ... You can get great language audio input here on youtube with bilingual stories, they will read a sentence of a story in English then read the same sentence in target language. Polyglot Beats on youtube does that well for multiple languages and there other channels for specific languages... its been helping me get passive listening and learning when going on walks... time is by FAR hardest obstacle in language learning - anything that can get us some passive learning is a plus😊😊

The spotlight in your face makes it look like you're being interrogated and you're squinting because it's hard to look at lol. You want soft (diffuse) light. Remove some of the shelf behind you and put some light on it. Cut out the door from the right.

@Angelofnine no I understand the point of the video. It's just annoying watching him undermine his attempts to grow the channel with very basic production issues.
