The mechanic of doing cool things to get more time is just something sonic games should incorporate imo

This is a cool mod. I’m afraid the Score aspect of Sonic will be a thing of the past soon, and I like building a good score! But it seems it’s all about time trials nowadays
@EpicDuskk11 ай бұрын
Yeah I 1000% prefer score based, but modern sonic games seem to be going away from that. Most people just wanna press the boost button and go fast with little effort or challenge, but I think its more fun trying to balance going fast with getting good scores, and trying to create a route that does both well enough to get the A rank

This mod looks fkn sick! Dunno how I feel about the “going faster more rings you get” aspect of it tho, seems like it has potential to kinda break the flow of the levels, but having to be fast to keep your score counter going to stay alive seems like a concept that really synergizes well with how those levels were already designed, with the enemy placements and level layouts. Especially the speed stages in SA2 feel so good to just rip through.

I feel the extra speed is necessary because of how difficult they made it, but the same person who made this made "Volt Rush" mode which is similar but easier according to other comments, so maybe that one it could work without the speed boost.

In case you weren't aware, there's an actually (mostly) fair version of this mod by the same creator called "Chain Attack Mode" (just don't play Cannon's Core unless you want to suffer). And yeah, this mod is incredible for mech stages in particular because it makes them work like how Gamma's did in SA1...a definite improvement in my opinion.

Ill have to check it out! Although I kinda do like the challenge 😎

I'm not a fan of rings making you run faster. It makes the game too difficult to control. I do however like how it freezes the timer during long automated sections like running down the wall in City Escape.
@EpicDuskk10 ай бұрын
Yeah it can get crazy fast. You can use the triggers to stop yourself, but theres no "slow down" mode.
@toastyjacks11 ай бұрын
You need to do a super bounce in pyramid cave to skip the switch sections with Sonic to save time.

Seems really cool but i dont like how the rings increase the speed, seems like it leads to an inconsistent experience.

I think the trick is to just keep moving and not worry about combos, slowing down for out of the way enemies doesn't seem to be worth it. Other than that, quite the challenging mod!
@EpicDuskk11 ай бұрын
I think in some cases thats true, on parts where we can get big combos its smart. But if its just like a few enemies not so much. Finding the optimal route for each level will be fun!

@@EpicDuskk Granted I haven't played it in years and forgot how many stops are there intended for platforming, definitely see how it's a speedrunner's puzzle though!
