If you think about the bathroom scene from Robin's point-of-view as a lesbian in the 80's, Steve's response (from a guy who has a crush on her) isn't just growth for him. It's a great relief for Robin who likely was imagining the worst. Instead of a tempest of rejection, she got an island of acceptance - a safe harbor - from Steve "The Hair" Harrington of all people, who was more worried about her taste in women than her orientation. The visceral experience for LGBTQ audience members was apparently very moving for some, especially older fans who lived in that time at that age. I can't watch that scene again without that in my mind and, from that perspective, it's beautiful.

That was such a moving scene, it showed how small actions can have a huge impact on someone. Steve went through a lot and took some knocks, but he came out of it knowing what it means to be a good friend. I love how he welcomed Robin to his ride-or-die squad along with Dustin.
@Logan_Baron2 жыл бұрын
He basically just told her he loves her (or that he could) so she's rejecting him in a sense, and one could expect that to be taken badly regardless of the reason. Then add on that some may not accept homosexuality at the time. And with some men with a fragile male ego it may cause them to lash out even more. The way she delivers that line "Steve?" you can feel that she's so scared to lose him as a friend over that confession. The fact that he immediately emotionally embraces her and becomes such a good friend (that she feared losing) to say she could do better is my favorite Steve moment of all time.
@CrazeeAdam2 жыл бұрын
Steve basically became the "hero" for the people around his age and the kids. He went from minor antagonist to hero basically. :) he's a great dude with progressive character development. Love Robyn too. She's so sassy and awesome. But to think Steve was supposed to run his course and only really be in season 1, but he was loved so much by the Duffers they wanted to keep him on
@danilooliveira65802 жыл бұрын
its one of the reasons why I disagree with people that think people should make every character bissexual, because them you lose moments like this. sometimes the character having their own sexuality is not a missed opportunity for a possible good romance with good chemistry, its also a opportunity for good character growth and exploration of some less common relationship dynamics.

3:24 - I absolutely loved the attention to detail that the shotgun only had three shots. Many states, I believe including Indiana, have hunting regulations that require a sort of plug in the tube magazine That limits the shotgun to three shots, maximum. Therefore, if Hopper only had the gun around for hunting, three shots was all it would hold in the tube unless the plug were removed.

While this is 100% true, I don't think that was a law in the 80s? Though i don't honestly know.... I suspect hopper wouldnt care and he had more shots than that in last season... The scene with Steve and Robin in the bathroom was fantastic. It really shows just how caring and genuine Steve is, after being rejected and finding out she was gay (which wasn't considered normal in the 80's) to immediately put her at ease by friendly mocking her and reassure her that they're still friends shows just how much depth the character has.

_"finding out she was gay (which wasn't considered normal in the 80's)"_ Depends on what you mean by it, it's not like their existence was a secret to guys like Steve e.g. Billy's dad about Billy getting ready for a date.
@revangerang2 жыл бұрын
Billy’s character is just so sad the more you think about it. His whole life he’s been pushed around by a big powerful bully (his dad), who made him hurt himself and others (like I’m pretty sure that’s why he treated Max the way he did). Then the end of his life was spent under the control of a terrifying beast who made him do even worse things. And in his flashback as a young child we saw him square up against his dad to protect his mom from abuse. And in his last moments, he mirrored that exact scenario, pose and all, when he protected El from the Flayer. So tragic… 😢

SPOILERS if you somehow didn't see s4: And that's why I don't get why so many people (Even on the cast) seem to believe that Jason was a better person than Billy. Billy has bits of relatable moments and emotional depth that would make great authors cry, but Jason is literally just an arrogant basketball player that used tragic events to manipulate people. Nothing about him even seems human.
@revangerang Жыл бұрын
@@tylerk2833 People say what ?? Deer god 🦌 like at least Billy was repentant about the really bad stuff he was doing, and fought against the mind flayer. He warned Karen to stay away from him, and had tears in his eyes while doing other things, clearly against his will. Not to mention breaking free at the last minute and saving El. Even with the earlier asshole behavior- it seemed to be motivated by self preservation, like I said, due to their abusive father. At the very least it’s him reacting poorly to his own abuse and taking it out on her. Max literally says so when she’s talking to Lucas on top of the bus. And when Max hit back (when she threatened him with the bat), he stopped that behavior. We see them share a look of understanding after, that they have an equal power dynamic between them now. The writers very well could have given Jason similar moments. I honestly did expect him to find out about Vecna and turn his efforts to helping the main crew. I was quite surprised they didn’t go that route. It really goes to show how much times and attitudes changed during the Panorama, that it even affected the writing of the show. But anyways, all that to say that the writers literally did not give Jason any of those moments I expected and was actively looking for?? People really need to work on their reading/viewing comprehension smh

Weathertop is a reference to Lord of the Rings (It's where Frodo got stabbed by the Nazgul). The kids, being the nerds they are, most likely have their own name for it, so Steve wouldn't know they call it that. My favourite aspect of this finale is that it flipped the script, and the adults ended up ending the threat. In seasons 1 and 2 Eleven was the one to end the Demogorgon’s reign of terror and close the gate, respectively, and allowed the others to save Will (lol). In this season Eleven performed a lot of feats of heroics throughout and they couldn’t have made it this far without her, but Hop and Joyce got to be the ones to really save the day and end the threat, as they always wanted.

The thing I love about the Steve and Robyn relationship is that it's probably a better result for Steve than if Robyn had actually had a compatible orientation. After cutting ties with his toxic friends, we never see him hang out with anyone his own age other than Nancy. Steve celebrating Dustin's return at the start of the season is very sweet, but in retrospect, Steve seems like he'd have to be crazy lonely by this point. Finding a new best friend in Robyn isn't what Steve wanted, but it's what he needed. And obviously, having someone that accepts her is huge for Robyn too. I'm just happy to see an emotionally intimate relationship on screen that is platonic. It doesn't happen often.

Wooo!! Way to go on completing Season 3. Yass on that last episode. A big ooof to the heart. I briefly forgot you had actually seen The Never Ending Story ( in her videos for those reading this and who haven't seen her reaction) and was a little worried but what Suzie-Poo and Dusty-Bun was just so good I figured it still would have resonated really well anyway. But yeah.. the ending, and that letter. ooof. Anyway Big Thank you Natalie for continuing with Stranger Things, and sharing your reaction, and to the editor (big thanks as well to Cameron). An awesome reaction episode. : ) (and yeah! finally moving from that Hell mouth of a town!)

2:54 really is one of my biggest problems with the season. It’s obviously not a huge deal but it took me right out of the drama to see them run inside and prepare for five minutes when it was 10 seconds away

This is my favorite season. It's just a perfect summer adventure flick. I also think using that Heroes cover was a BRILLIANT move... for reasons which will become apparent in the next season.

Nat: Mark my words, I will not get attached to the next funny guy. Season 4 Episode 1: Are you sure about that? 👀 Thank you for making my day with this reaction. You never disappoint!! :') Watching you sob-laugh through the finale was very validating for me. You are not alone 😂😂 ALSO, thank you for appreciating the Suzie-Dustin moment! A lot of reactors I've watched HATED that scene but I always found it perfect. I also love the Billy appreciation thank you!!! Cannot wait to see your S4 reactions. I will be 100% grabbing a drink and grabbing a snack. 😂😂

Steve & Robin's truth telling, Dustin & Suzie's Never Ending Story, Billy's redemption and Hop's letter broke me this last episode of season 3. So glad you are caught up to season 4, but personally and I know I'm in the minority, I absolutely loved all performances this season. Especially this last episode.
