Just want to point out to those that wanna try it themselves: you can also only accept one culture either yucatec or putun and convert the other province to that accepted culture (as you can convert into bordering cultures, not just your primary one) to use the monuments sure it takes a bit longer but it saves you the slot for another culture you might find more useful to accept

@@Imper1um__ I just binged a lot of the eu4 ones he made last year, and I agree. Personally I don't think youtubers need a lot of bells and whistles, his vids were more explanatory than anything. They were labeled guides and mechanic explanations, why I was watching them. But I didn't find them boring, if anything its the Oxford dictionary of content that needs to be absorbed to understand basic game mechanics thats boring. Ludi makes it a lot easier to digest and understand.

Thanks for the awesome up to date guide Ludi! two tips to add for Aztecs: 1. Before you switch to animist make sure you have positive stability. Switching religions doubles your stab cost until you convert your provinces. (my ruler died and i had a -1 stab event) 2. Develop your trade center to lvl 2 in Mexico before spending mana points to spawning first institution Was wondering how to deal with the inflation from the gold mines?

Yaqui is pronounced as Yaki, made me laugh hearing ludi trying to say it as ya cui. I personally like playing as Tarascans, it really gives a great touch to the area while trying to figure out how to deal with the Aztecs during the run as a Nahualt nation. An underdog story cause doom can be a tricky situation to deal with cause without Tenochtitlan monument you really can't expand. But doing totemist was a rather interesting turn of events and now I want to try the same with Purépechas (Tarascans). As an odd additional information, Tarascans is the name the mexicas (Aztecs) gave to the cultural group mostly in modern day Michoacan state that kicked their ass every time they tried to invade (reason the Aztec empire did not expand westward). But the group called themselves Purépechas (which is reflected correctly in the Spanish version of EUIV).

Even without Totemist, Animist Aztec is stupidly powerful. Even a noob like me managed to get the Sunset Invasion. Now, if only I thought about Totemist I could have been a bit less of a virgin. With all the money you get you get so much mana, and since you are stronger than anyone else in the new world, you can just eat everything you see. Get some forts in some nice provinces and watch the invading European armies melt. Super fun!

For the central American monuments you need to have the province with an accepted culture and the corresponding religion for said monument. Ex. Tenochtitlan has to be Nahualt
