Berber languages aren't Saharan. The Berberisation of the Sahara desert would have been caused by the introduction of the dromedary in North Africa from the 3rd to the 5th century AD. Berbers are originally a sedentary Mediterranean people from the Atlas mountains and the temperate parts of North Africa, nomadism is not native to them. Some Berber groups adopted it when camels were introduced to North Africa and settled in the Sahara, but they're a minority among Berber people who are in their huge majority sedentary people with a Mediterranean culture. Nowadays stereotypes due to mass tourism and Orientalism tend to picture Berbers as desert nomads but that's very biased and inaccurate, a minority can't represent the majority :)

Hi this is true genetically but according to linguist dr Abdelleh elhaloui, professor of linguistics at Marrakech, the amazigh languages urheimat (homeland), may have a Saharan origin. I will post my interview with him shortly.

Are you planning to visit the north?? Also a place that no youtuber ever goes to is the rif region, the rif region is with the rif mountains ,now dont get riyafa mixed with jebala, jebala are the people in like chefchaoun, jebala dont speak amazigh they speak jebli which is like a dialect of darija . riyafa are like hoceima and nador and they speak an amazigh dialect called riffiya. And the reason why no one goes there is because riyafa dont like foreigners , but its also very rich in tribes and tradition , if you dont go there i wont blame you because its kind of hard, riyafa are also very stubborn. They are white and some of them are kind of blonde, rif is really interesting . Souss region is also very interesting and the people are nice and its close to where you are. Souss music has a kind of Chinese it may seem wierd but its true.
