This motherboard is weird but I love it - Asrock Z790 Livemixer

I recently purchased the Asrock Z790 Livemixer to use with the Montech King 95 case because I was planning on creating a different looking build. I mostly bought it because I wanted something funky looking and different, but this motherboard turned out to be interesting and weird at the same time for a few different reasons.

this seems a very good budget like (even though we can find cheaper) mobo. The amount of 5v pins and only 2 usb ports proves that as well. Very good looking board, I believe the AMD one is Orange, also quite beautiful. Great mobo to use as well on the Hyte Y70 black case to create a EVA-01 looking case.

Also just use the gen 4 slot so you get the full performance from your gpu. Gen 5 m.2 is expensive anyways

I have had this board for the last year. Ther top M.2 slots will only allow a pice 5 but then it uses the lanes of hte pcie and lowers it to pcie 8x. if yoiu use the pcie 4x next to it you lose pcie 5x

I guess I should probably wait for the Montech review but I'll ask before I forget. Can you replace the Montech fans with the LianLi infinity fans? I recently purchased the case because it has everything I want, but I don't like the design of the fans.

I assume you got the Pro. The standard model doesn't come with fans but yes you should be able to replace the fans easily. But I'd use the Lian Li controller. I have a wiring guide for them if you've not seen it already

honestly... who uses wifi on a desktop? i absolutely keep my desktop hard wired to the router. i don't mind a motherboard not including wifi at all. i would rather save money on the board than have it included.

I use ethernet but my kids have WiFi and the new standards are fast and stable. I'm not running three ethernet cables around the house. 😂

Same here , Every TV , PC is wired. I always get Wifi and never use it. Laptops , handheld gaming devices , security cameras and light switch's tax my Wifi enough. Even my roof antenna is wired (HDHomerun)so I can record live TV and watch it anywhere.
