@AammaK4 жыл бұрын
@@alchris8041 There is of course some truth to what you are saying here. But to think you should just stick to what you do (like the person in the video seems to think) because of you being an introvert or other way around simply forces the idea that you can't and shouldn't change your behavior. Scientifically speaking people have plasticity, and are able to stretch their appearance to fit what the current situation acquires despite their actual personality or preference. An introvert IS able to answer the phonecall* or introduce themselves to a new person despite it being uncomfortable, because it is necessary to know that skill. It is harmful to feed oneself the idea that it can't get easier because you simply are this one thing. And the whole dichotomy is just wrong, people are not either introvert or extrovert. It is a continuum and everyone has at least bit of both. And there are ambiverts that are almost exactly both.
@AammaK4 жыл бұрын
@@alchris8041 Oh I think what I'm talking about is more correctly resilience as psychological function rather than plasticity that is more a neurological function. But they both play a part in adapting to situations and social demands

As an Indian I can tel you this, this man has based his entire philosophy and teachings from surface level Indian philosophy taught to a child in an Indian household. Like any child knows what he’s talking about. The only reason Jay Shetty is what he is, is because being a monk is different in America if he tried the same shit in India he’d be brushed aside. Because it’s all like you said so FAKE DEEP. He didn’t even try to imbibe philosophy to a second level. When I say every Indian child can repeat what he’s saying, I mean it lol.

Introvert is just someone who feels drained when spending a lot of time with people. They need alone time to feel like themselves. They may actually not be shy. Extroverts are opposite, they feel energized when they’ve spent time with people. And might feel stress if they are alone a lot, But they can have shyness/social anxieties too. Western society is made to feel that being an introvert is a bad thing. And that introverts are not assertive enough and are weak. I am introverted myself and that’s why I actually enjoy a lot of eastern philosophy. 😅

Or maybe she is a covert abuser. Something like a Larry Nasser or something. Maybe this is a consistent and frequent maneuver/ploy of hers. So only the husband sees it for what it actually is? Because he had been putting up with this passive agressive shit for like the umpteenth time? And because the covert put downs were being communicated in such a manner that the husband alone could feel the heat, and yet couldn't quite put his finger on it for long time, always giving the benefit of the doubt to her, until after this umpteenth repetition of the same tactic, when the truth finally started dawning upon him? Human communication is complex. And psychopathic con-artists take full advantage of the whole gamut of the finer nuances of it to deceive their partners as well as the community at large, while simultaneously making the actual victim look like the perpetrator to all. And the best of the lot like a Larry Nasser do it so masterfully that it takes even their victims a good deal of time to even so much as start to realise that they are being victimised after all. But by the time they see it however, for what it truly is, it's almost always too late. Maybe that very plausible deniability, that she is going through stuff or suffering dissociations is the exact one she's employed for like nth time now to gaslight & guilt trip her husband for even so much as questioning her, while secretly basking in duping delight? Yeah, there could be so many other possibilities too. Precisely why I would personally reserve my judgement until after I've thoroughly analysed every single one and especially the subtler aspects of the overall scenario. Three years spent being conned & covertly abused by malignant/psychopathic narcissist in a "non-relationship", and numerous health/financial consequences after, I've at least learnt that much, if not way more. And yes, it could happen to one of you too, so become aware and spread awareness. Awareness is key!

@vixxcelacea27784 жыл бұрын
The most destructive thing someone can do is try to shut out all negativity. This is denial of reality. A huge part of anxiety disorders and depression even is about learning to understand reality, that it's neither better or worse than your personally perceive it. It's basically what mindfullness is. Reality it is what it is. Denying when you are happy, sad or angry or all 3 at once, is a problem and it will absolutely bite you in the butt one day, mental disorder or neurotypical, our emotions do not like to be denied and reality will be reality whether you want it to or not. Trying to rationalize fear doesn't help. Let it exist. Life is not about the bad make the good all the better. Life is not about bad things happen so deal with it. it's about being able to accept a reality outside of your own perception. You wall, is a wall. It is a color, It is everywhere in your house. That is just a fact, a universal truth. Reality is what it is. We should do what we can to make it better, sure, but we need to accept it existing as it does first, and most people, myself included struggle massively with that. It's why I'm not fond of positive energy and motivational speaking, because it denies reality. That it's mostly pretty banal, neutral, peaceful and mundane, and that's okay. It's allowed to be what it is. Your feelings are valid no matter what is causing them. The reason we make it so much harder on ourselves is that we want to judge and validate things to have objective reasoning, when we are emotional social creatures and almost none of that is logical. Allowing things to exist is how you learn to deal with reality. There is no big epiphany or sudden moment that will make you endlessly happy or sad. The glass truly is neither half full nor half empty. Reality is never so black and white nor so charged with emotional judgement. That rock outside doesn't care how you perceive it, it will be what it is. Bad denies the good and good denies the bad. Reality doesn't care about either of those.

Rachel is over here, dissociating." every time to snap me out of it. But for real tho like if your'e dissociating that much, there's a big problem. Monk guy needs to realize dissociating is your brain trying to cope with trauma, and yeah , it DOES interfere with relationships. but even if you learn ways to avoid dissociating, through meditating or buying his book or whatever, it wont stop the source of the trauma. Also I think we need to look further into fictional husband. He yells at her with all those cameras in the house, Imagine what he does when they're not being filmed.
