@@GassyGoat In Western European myth, the faeries were horrifically vulnerable to iron - referred to in the myths by the Fae as 'Cold Iron' for reasons not well explained. Basically, the myths state that their magic simply could not affect iron or worse could be horribly distorted or deflected by the stuff. They were also supposed to be contact allergic to the stuff as well - simply touching one with iron would either cause an extremely bad rash or even terminal anaphylactic shock followed by disintegration. The myths also sometimes state that the Fae had severe problems reproducing and a very low birthrate, perhaps related to their exceptionally long lifespans. The stock explanation in fantasy/urban fantasy is that humans developed a technology base with 'Cold Iron' including swords, shields, armor and arrowheads then simply outbred the Fae, leading to the Fae having to run away as they could not muster adequate defenses against human armies or even war parties.

A whole goddamn bomb shelter, built by hand, would need a whole town's worth of men , if not MORE, and all of them going missing didn't set any alarms? The cement bunker should have been something that could be dug and dropped there with in a day and then have video footage of the 'professor' documenting everything and then... something goes wrong and the crew dies trying to capture a fairy because the professor was a coward and possibly used the crew as bait. The movie should have just focused on building a mysterious thrilling movie to encourage those interested in reading the look or doing some research online about it.

My god-sister went to school with her and participated in the theater program with her there and he would go and see the performances. I got to meet him a few times because of that and he is very nice! I will say I am biased though because I think the show he made for Apple TV, Servant, was really endearing.

From the start of the movie they made it sound like nobody has ever locked eyes with these creatures and survived which was complete BS. They never explained why they had to stand infront of the 1 way mirror. Did anyone get to sleep or did they just stand still like a stick figure until the sun came up? Also why wouldnt the one way mirror be the other way around so they could watch the creatures but not be seen?? At first it was a cool premise and then it kept getting wackier and wackier until I gave up on it
@btmdth88437 ай бұрын
In the book it's explained the professor wants to study them but starts getting unsettled when they take his dead wife's face bc it's not perfect copies, hence the one way mirror could be deactivated.

I always find it creepier in horror movies, when they give you just enough, they don't show the monster, and you know nothing about the monster because our imagination can make up some of the scariest things, but it's hard to portray that. just be ominous lol

I swear to God the premise sounds like Undertale. Humans and faires get in a war because the humans fear their shapeshifting abilities and force them underground. Sounds a lot like the Undertale intro.
