99.9% of musky fishermen are strictly catch and release so most likely he's been caught before maybe multiple times so she's gotten so smart that she ain't easily fooled throw out a live sucker rig in front of her she may fall for that

You should try king mackerel live bait fishing from the pier. You can go years without catching one. I just broke a 5 year dry spell this past May. That was at least 2 trips per year and a total of around 14 days on the pier per year from sun up to sun down without a king.

If it’s going on glidebaits, I am sure it just wants something slow and meaty enough to strike and nip at! Or it’s wants a panfish jig fished slowly on 4lb line, cause every spring we catch at least 2-10 Muskies on year meant for panfish bass and walleyes!

Quick short burst of speed can illicit a bite when they're trailin it like that. Sometimes i dip the tip of my rod in the water so the lure does a shallow dive when i crank it and they either chase and grab it or swim away. But rarely do i have them bite it when walking it in for the last 20 feet.

I love musky fishing but the only thing that got old to me was, if you hooked this dude, you would have landed it in less than 30 seconds. They just dont have fight in them 😂. A 5# smallmouth or a 10# steelhead on the other hand, your lucky to even see for 5-10 minutes unless they tailwalk, which is awesome! Its almost like musky and giant pike are too badass and arrogant to bother wrestling wit ya 😂

On my last trip in October I landed a 20 pound pike and a 5 pound smallmouth bass. That bass fought way harder than the pike. I think that old pike was stunned or confused because it didn't start fighting until it was already in the net. Remote Lake Huron fish so it may have never seen a lure or people before.
