This is a terrible scam idea due to how easy it would be to trace back to the scammers. Sure, Jess would have some possibility of escaping without arrest, but in real life, the police are obviously going to hone in on the guy wearing a suit that just talked to the guests right outside the hotel on cctv. Similarly, it would be easy to identifybald guy as-well.

identify maybe - but you have to have connection to the crime to prove it. A guy in a suit talking to hotel guests. CCTV of bald guy opening door, entering room, leaving. Not clear enough for identification. Neither of the three scammers connected on CCTV evidence, and no keys duplicated. You can have them all on videotape, but you won't be able to get a single thing that will stand up in court.

I worked on this show for 2 series and the hotel is definitely in on the scam as they have to give us consent to film in there as although hidden cameras, it wa was being used for TV. The mark wasn’t an actor, the friend is the one who set their friend up. You will notice most scams are on 2 people - the one who is normally all quiet is the one who applied to be on it.
