They showcased it in one of their videos, it can play audio in one ear to give you track proximity warnings, a sound blip to tell you when to brake, and even gives you a sort of pacenotes-esque system to rate turns based on how flat or sharp they are.

What did they do so differently? The crew motorfest has 99 % of the mechanics straight from the crew 2. Switching vehicles on the fly, the pr stunts where you fly a plane through checkpoints, the random loot drops, the same upgrade randomizer system. The only different thing is the playlists and they can be fun but they're essentially a championship type thing you see in any other racing games like gt7's menu books or forza motorsport's builders cup. The only difference being there is a voice over narration. They're like small festival playlists from horizon. The microtransactions are the same, the summit is the same and the stupid grind. Oh the map is new.

IDK what's up with Theo and Forza. That series of games makes him lose his sh*t completely. I agree that Forza Motorsport was a disappointment given how long we've waited and all the promises. _At the same time_ though, it's a very good racing game with brilliant handling, beautiful visuals, a decent selection of incredible looking tracks and a career mode that's actually pretty engaging. I really like the Builders' cup - it does a lot of the things that Theo has been talking about for so long in terms of a feeling of actually progressing with a car and building it better for each new race. The car models are a mix of unbelievable...and unbelievably shite, and the level-progression system is just...madness. How they thought that was a good idea I'll never know. They have to change that ASAP in my opinion. But as a racing game it's not hard to make a case for an 8 out of 10. I'd personally give it a 7 - sometimes I lean towards a 6 when I think about all the promises, sometimes I lean towards an 8 when I'm actually playing it, and trail braking through a corner. But an 8 out of 10 is not an insane score. This is not a glorified DLC like the new COD(or The Crew Motorfest). And to talk about The Crew Motorfest as though that game is in the same galaxy as FM8...come on, let's be serious about it. TCM was an expanded DLC that died on its arse within a few weeks of launch. Its handling model is unplayably terrible, the cars feel horrible to drive, the rubber-bandy AI makes races feel meaningless and there aren't even that many new cars. It forces grinding on the player and pushes MTXes all the time in a deeply scummy way. There aren't enough ways to count all the things it does wrong. I like Theo, but it feels like I'm entering a parallel universe when he starts talking about how terrible both Forzas are, how everyone's bored of Horizon, while also talking about how exciting it is that The Crew has released a 'new' Mazda MX-5 Skis-For-Wheels Edition or Ford GT500 Horrible-Monster-Truck Edition, or whatever.

And it took my 5 to 1 year to BEAT it, because they were actually well-developed, designed and tested. Plus the multi-player. Cherry in top. Another week later I'm close to 100% it. I don't care about racing games doing the same thing. After all in many cases we're talking about simulations of real life so screwing with the formula can be very unwelcome. What I do have a problem with is doing the same thing worse and that's Forza 23's unforgivable sin at this point. The performance is a joke for the visuals presented, the track count is underwhelming, the bugs are ridiculous for 6 years of "built from the ground up" nonsense. Don't even get me started on how far downhill the presentation has gone since listening to Clarkson read car descriptions in FM4 It's not all horrible though. The physics feel good on controller and the car list is... fine if I'm being honest. I'm happy to see it refocused on road cars after years of random BS being tossed in to bloat up the numbers. If that offends the one guy who REALLY loved racing off road vehicles so be it. I think in a year or two of solid patching the game could be salvaged into what it should've been in beta.

I don’t think Forza Motorsport is as bad as Pants says it is, but yes it did hit below expectations. Where I disagree is with the multiplayer, the new system is great! Also gets you into different cars (horizon online is so repetitive, same cars in same classes) And even though the leveling system isn’t many people’s cup of tea, it does still get you to spend more time figuring out your car and how to improve it (again, horizon you just download some generic tune and you’re set) It’s under delivered with tracks and bugs (had to do a race over 5 times) but the template is good and the racing is fun, think that counts for something👍🏻
