Because of his E giving teammates lifesteal any DPS who's ultimate can do a lot of dmg can be a really good combo with Mauga's ult. Think about unkillable Reaper, Pharah or Torb... But basically most of the DPS ults are a good combo with his ult

right now, Mauga can still crit orissa while shes fortified with his secondary fire. If that's a bug and he loses that ability then I think orissa will counter him, but if it doesn't get changed I think it'll be a fine matchup for Mauga

Kiriko, Baptiste and Ana are essential to have playing with or against him. He just takes too much damage

Ana is necessary against him, the anti does so much and he's an easy sleep target too. Kiri is needed when with him because suzu is important to cleanse anti heal otherwise he just gets shredded. Baptiste is good with or against him, he can do good damage against him from range, immortality field is great to keep your mauga alive and it combo's with his ultimate to make your team's mauga unkillable by anyone in his ult. So yeah, I'd agree that all 3 of them are essential when mauga

Playing bastion while he was out was great, setup, wait for him to charge in, play behind your tank as much as possible n los of supports and just melt him like any other tank

It's the perfect size for combing with other AOE ults like bastion, Mei, Sigma, Doomfist, Cassidy, Reaper to an extent, Zarya (although Zarya ult seems unnecessary given what maugas ult is already doing), Junkrat, DVA, Orisa to name a few. Some are only available in open queue, and some will actively work against you like trapping yourself in with the enemy Orisa, but enclosing a few of the enemy team members in a small circle usually allows for a strong ult from one of your teammates to get kills from.

I think Zarya and DVA will be good counters for Mauga. Zarya because she can eat his damage with bubbles and turn it into free charge, and DVA because she can eat his damage with defense matrix and chase him down if he tries to run away.

Somewhat, but both still have to be extremely careful of the point blank ~350 dps he does. He's basically bastion on perma-sentry with more spread. I don't think there's a single tank in the game that actually really counters him in his current iteration, at most he has neutral matches while shitting on the rest.

Yeah I played him once or twice but I don’t really care until he’s fully released. I was in a quick play game the other day and the enemy tank was complaining that I wasn’t playing Mauga, I was actually testing Mauga counters for when he gets released. Btw Zarya seems to work well against Mauga.
