We’ll say 10$ to be generous. 3 sculpting tools made of basic tools steel. We’ll say $5. Paints? $1 per bottle to be generous. Cutting board? $10 on Amazon. What am I missing?

"I want to make silicone molds." I learned about injection molding from the guy who made the robocop suits for the original movies. He told me that unless you need to reuse the mold more than like 2 or 3 times, alginate is easier and cheaper than silicone. Also he said to fill it about half way, then carve a few indentations in the unused parts of the mold (for the interlocks) and spray it with mold release before pouring the rest, so when it's done you can just separate it (I use the word "just" lightly here, but at least it can be done) instead of having to cut it off with a knife.

Please don't waste your money. You can buy better quality products in larger amounts for what you pay for this box. Watch some experienced KZbinrs, and get some ideas of what you are interested in and which products are best suited for your needs. Then, do some shopping around. There are many options and price points out there!

@@astrid6496 I'd argue the opposite, its a very good starting point if you're interested in clay and plaster casting, it has lots of reusable things, and high quality tools. If you don't have experience with anything you don't have much to go on even when listening to others as there's a learning curve involved with anything, but a much steeper one if you're figuring things out from nothing. It's difficult just knowing what tools to get and then pick out your first things to start out with etc The box has so many things to try out and see if you'll enjoy or not, and it saves both money and having to troubleshoot too much And the items being all in one place its cost efficient too, and all the brands inside are good too. Thus giving a better experience playing around with something unfamiliar as well because you're not hindered by the shortcomings of a lesser product

Brand name yes, but I know from personal experience that better/equal quality items can be found for much cheaper. The only reason to purchase the box is if you don't want to source supplies yourself, but doing that is half the fun. You're paying for her name, and nothing else. For some people maybe that's worth it?

If you're interested in casting with resin and making silicon molds, Rybonator has a channel that explains the process really well. He focuses mostly on dice, but most of the process translates really well molding pretty much anything
