@MostlyDrones Very good point! When my son asked me how fast can it go, while in my backyard with too many trees, I said, "Well, there's not much room here, but I'll back up and try it." I had never tried a speed stop in sport mode before, but I backed up to about 85-90 ft, then I pushed the right stick full forward. I pulled back on the right stick fast at about 15 ft short of a tree and BAM! right into the tree trunk, destroying the gimbal, and cracking the drone! 😵 I didn't realize it would take that long to stop! Fortunately, I had DJI Care Refresh, and they replaced it within a week. Of course, my 50-year-old son felt terrible for asking me that question, but I forgave him. So stupid on my part for trying that in such a cramped area. Live and learn. 🙄 BTW, looking forward to @WeretheRoberts' video test of pulling back on the stick to stop.

I did have an issue with one of the frequencies a while ago during another update version but ultimately I think it was more the location I was flying. I’ve had the same major issue a couple other times when flying in the same general area so I think they’re may be a jammer or something in the area somewhere. Hey Kev, I noticed you broke some blades. Well I have been flying my Mini 2 for over a year now with three blade props. Not trying to convert you to switch, but for me, I like to think they give a little more lift as I sometimes use the "Drop thingy" you used a few times and they seem to give better lift and stability. I do have my share of crashes like you, but the props I use have the quick release system that throws whatever prop system away intact if they make hard contact with limbs or hard surfaces and I have never had any to break. I have had problems finding them after a crash but they don't fly far from where they separate from the drone. The good thing about them is they are easy to put back on by just pushing the prop system down onto motor covers that come with the props and you push the prop system to the right to lock them in place. So easy on, easy off with no screws to worry about. I have heard some they don't use motor covers claiming they could overhead the motors, but I have used them in over 90 degree heat and never had a problem. If anything they protect the motors from dust, debris. rain, moisture etc. and prevent the motor from stress damage as a prop should be able to separate to also prevent twisting or brakeage of the motor shaft.They do prevent you from completely being able to fold the drone, but it will fold somewhat with them on, but you can just remove the props and snap them back in when you are ready to fly. Just saying, to each their own, but I like 12 blades holding my drone up than 8. Just me.

Wow, man those things sound like something I’d definitely be interested in trying out. I do use the droppy thing pretty often and it would be cool to have better lift and stability. Do you have a link or a site you could direct me to? The motor covers sound like a great idea, too. I’ve seen mixed reviews on them but living in FL, there’s a lot of dust and sand everywhere so it’s always better safe than sorry, eh? Lol. If it dont let you leave a link, you can email it to me. Lol that was the loudest rock strike I’ve ever heard. Dad said I even got a souvenir. Oh and Safe lite is scheduled for next week. Hahaha. So far the visits been good. It’s not really a vacation at the moment though. Mom had a surgery so I’m up here helping them out while she recovers. All is good though and the Lord answered our prayers. I may be here a while so I’m hoping to get a bunch of good footage.

Pause button is really buggy on Mini 2 SE. I'm having trouble to control the drone on flights I used Pause button to end RTH. After some random time the drone refuses to respond to stick inputs. It doesn't respond to any input other than ascending. You can't even descent. I avoid using Pause button as much as possible. I cancel the RTH from DJI Fly.

The one problem I would have is, although I'd remember to release the sticks, I'd forget to hit the pause button in an emergency. I always though the pause button was for recording. BTW, I've had good results with the RainX windshield repair kit. Your damage looked too big for a repair kit though. Great job on this, Kevin!

I’ve never had a crack develop so quick after the windshield was hit by a rock. It’s almost all the way to the top now but I have a safe lite appointment Tuesday. Lol. Should be good as new. I’m thinking a good tip would be to get one of those rainx kits and keep in the glove box. It may have stopped the crack if I had applied it immediately. I’m usually like a Boy Scout but this one I wasn’t prepared for. Lol

think of the pause button like a break- its a sudden brake in the air and you can't control forward or backward movement for 3 or 4 seconds after

I use it screwing around. I generally flight at altitudes above everything but when I’m coming down for landing I switch from sport back to normal…. I’d use the pause button for more aggressive approaches when landing but the first input after you initiate is null.

That's not like you. 😂 I guess facial lacerations would not have been a nice addition to your day after the cracked windshield and broken props. Haha. I probably wouldn't use pause like that, because if I'm panicking , finding and hitting the pause button in time would be unlikely for me. But I would definitely use it in automated flight modes (Quickshots and return to home) if the drone was heading toward trouble.
