pretty heavily weighted towards the lay. only 2 limbs off the top face the camera. probably could've used a bit more but went as planned.

I'm pretty sure that he used a bore cut, it's what you use when you aren't sure how solid the center of the tree is, i think, i'm not claiming to be an expert. Just adding my 2 cents.

To me it always seems trees like that stand neutral. I fell a cherry of the same shape (half the size of this one) but the prevailing wind was outta the north so decided to fall the tree to the south which made things very easy. Awesome video. Topping that thing was probably quite a job?

Massive growth rings by the look of it! Maybe 100-150years? Out in the open sucking up all the water and sun. In Britain, likely in a woodland, you could find one that size 800+ years old

He’s cutting his hinge out for whatever reason, if it’s a leaner you bore cut it from the side, not the notch.

don't get much lift with them plastic wedges !! never cared for them !! need to get some steel ones for them biggins or tree jack !! hate see a man beat his brains out !!! just carry a couple for when you really need them I know their heavy but their there when you them and you get a lot more lift !! Face cut was too shallow. Also, you can double up wedges. This took you about 3x as long as it should've.
