Well good luck there buddy. Removing the air from the tires will help the RV from tipping over. Allot of people are staying simply due to they couldn't get out anyway. They are showing to different paths and one shows it heading north once it hits the coast the other shows it going inland then north. Hopefully the European model up the coast. Less damage but allot of rain and flooding. Stay safe and looking forward to your recovery video soon. Tim

When thou solderest: Get that small dia. Rosin Core electrical solder. Heat up pin & trace for a couple seconds, feed in a little solder and then execute rapid withdraw (like a responsible Quaker) so as not to overheat trace or component. You'll get a nice, shiny, good-wetting joint. The light's intermittent operation might indicate a cold solder joint. Put on a touch of liquid or paste flux and re-flow joint with minimal heat. Clean with electronics solvent or baking soda to neutralize flux acid, or you'll be banging that light like the Energizer bunny when it f#&%ing acts up. Good troubleshooting on that motor. I was suspecting float level, mistakenly.

Hey. the light is working great, it only looks intermittent on the camera because the cam lens isnt set fast enough to capture the actual pulse. Thanks for watching !

Think I have that same timing light for many years also.Have you ever done the timing method I have seen where you just do it while cranking, remove plugs and subtract 4 degrees from factory setting?Then check going full out on the water.

P.S. you have to have it full throttle while doing the cranking test also and make sure the rubber stopper is against,forgot to mention that.

No I haven't tried it. I believe thats the Joe Reeves method, I think thats his name.

THIS OLD OUTBOARD yes it is his method.I am going to try that with a drill.Only way to really simulate a starter for cranking speed with my rope outboards.

Do you have a recoil spring video? Broke my ‘58 18hp Johnson recoil the other day.

Hey. Not that I can think of but its an easy fix. Take it apart. They usually break at the end where it hooks up. Rebend it to match the broken piece , its easier to heat it up first but not to hot or it can break, now the hard part, wind it up back in the housing, put some oil or grease on it to make it easier, Its a pain to get it in there. Then put it completely back together and wind it up as tight as it will go. Put a clamp or vise grip on it so it doesn't unwind, then look for the holes where the pull rope goes in and line them up. After you get the rope through tie a good knot in it and melt the end so the rope dosent unravel. Now hold the rope and pull it tight to tighten the knot real good. You have to push the knot in flat so it doesn't rub. Hang on to the rope and release the clamp and the spring will pull the rope into position. I say hang on to rope so it can feed back in slowly and not super fast when you release the clamp, to fast can break the spring again. Hope this helps. thanks
