We've finished roughing in the plumbing and electrical as we continue turning our Quonset hut into a proper wood working shop. This will be an ongoing video series. Please subscribe to our channel if you want to follow along with the project! +AMDG

Wow, your electrical work is very "neat". Is it an issue with the water lines being in the "exterior" wall that is so near to the cold? I realize you put fiberglass batts in this wall, but are cold drafts still able to creep into the pipes? Also, I heard someone mention in a similar situation as the heavy roof hatch that is covering your well area..... to use gas struts to assist in the opening/lifting of the heavy roof hatch. Something that you would see on like the rear lift gate of an SUV or minivan.

Thanks - for years I assisted or worked for the electrician we hired for construction jobs. He's now an inspector, but he's the one that taught me how to be so neat with my work for many good reasons. It also fits with how I work in general. As to the pipes, hoping they should be OK. Won't be any worse than in a residential situation, because when it's cold we will have heat on in that corner of the building. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Sir, the Go/No Go tool you slipped over the PEX is actually the release tool for when you're using SharkBite fittings. SharkBites receive copper, PEX, or PVC and as the collar slips over the end of the tubing, there's a gripping mechanism inside the fitting you will feel the click as it snaps into place and seals up the connection. If you need to remove a SharkBite, use your Go/NoGo tool for it's intended purpose: slip it over the PEX, and tight against the collar of the fitting. Apply even pressure and the collar that grips and seals the tubing releases, and you can pull the SharkBite and tubing apart for whatever reason. When you're finished, you can RE-USE the SharkBite because no damage was done to get into the previously closed system. Also, even after the crimp ring has been crimped, you can safely rotate the tubing or fitting into the desired orientation. Respectfully, A licensed GC of 32 years!

Great video series on your upgrade of a Quonset Hut! I'm curious, was venting the plumbing an issue?

It has not been an issue, but I may not be fully understanding the question. In the video we showed putting a ABS plastic vent outside the building, but we also put in a Studor vent above the sink on that drain line. Everything has worked beautifully without issue.

your sub panel is wired incorrectly!! you need to separate the grounds and neutrals as well as run a ground wire back to your main panel

Joseph, thank you for watching and commenting. There is a ground wire back to the main panel. Unfortunately, while I've pulled what must be miles of wire in new home construction - my knowledge in the panel is limited. I'll admit that I made an assumption based on what I found in the panel before I started working on it - the bus bars were connected and previous electricians mixed the grounds and neutrals. After reading your comment and looking up this issue, I see your point. Frustrating, because having already pulled wires and closed up walls, it will be tough separating all the wires to different bus bars as some when end up being too short. Thanks for the catch on this and leaving a comment. God bless.

I would add a ground bar and attach your main ground and ground wires from each circuit to this bar. Fault current should never be allowed on the neutral conductor. Good luck
