I don't mind the cheeky asides about dating life from Alex, they are relatively amusing and wholesome, *but* I'd love some acknowledgement that it ain't just sausages watching your stuff and enjoying it! XD

I watch your videos because you're a great teacher, but mostly for the hilarious analogies you always come up with
@GAmisterfixit11 ай бұрын
By FAR the best chess teacher on KZbin. Clear explanations, good analogies and always happy to review your choices and learn from them. The fact you repeat openings enough times for us all to see patterns and to help us remember moves is very much appreciated. Don't stop doing what you're doing - and please don't ever evolve into the clickbaiting type some other popular chess commentators have changed in to!

So far, i love the jobava and I started it because of one of your videos. i like it because i don't have to memorize 30 different lines for each position placement. I'm great at thinking and analyzing. I am TERRIBLE at memorization. i even open with d6 as black when white opens with e4, then k-f6 and third bringing out the bishop. sort of an abbreviated-jobava for black with a less extended e-pawn, but i'm sure it has a different name. pretty cool that i have basically the same opening whether i am white or black and i can do basically the same playstyle with both. i feel like it's making me learn the game/system twice as fast as if i only played it as white.

At 17:10 - why wouldn’t it be wise to take the knight? It’s true he can protect the queen by taking your rook.. but then you take the rook back with the Queen or King, he takes your pawn with his Queen, and aren’t you up +2 after the trade?

At 5:26 couldn't they just take bishop with knight? If yo do fork the king, you are doing it at the cost of a bishop and a knight for a rook. If you take knight back with knight, then it is an even trade allowing them to thrn play c6 blocking any further attempt to go for rook again. Edit: nevermind. Continue with exactly what you showed anyway. If the take bishop, you fork the rook and king forcing king to move f8, tgen follow with took to d8#.
