Had my trial today. I'm scared to schedule the surgery. My pain was caused by an abdominal surgery that went bad. Thank you for sharing your journey!

My life has changed as well. I get mine filled every month and in 2025 I get my pump changed cause of the battery. Which I’m nervous about that too. And I can’t say I got that nasty headache when I had it done. But years ago I had a small tear in my spinal cord and had headaches all the time, dr never knew it until I finally had a surgery. Pump don’t take it all away but makes life a lot easier!

I am so grateful for your inspiring story of strength and hope! Thank you for courageously sharing your journey with us. It's truly inspiring to hear how well the pump is working for you, especially considering the immense strength you've demonstrated in the face of severe pain that had you contemplating giving up. Could you please share which medication is being used in your pump? I recently underwent a pain pump trial for Prialt, and even at a low dose, the results were astounding. I am hopeful that the Prialt pain pump will help me regain a semblance of my life after six long years of battling major issues following an injury I sustained while serving as a volunteer firefighter. The last few years have been especially hard and I understand your battle with wanting to give up in the face of such diffcult circumstances. Like you, I battle through it for my family and would fight through anything to be here for them, but that doesn't change how hard it is on a daily basis to even try to move. I have been primarily bedbound, experienced episodic paralysis, and have had multiple hospitalizations, including stays in the ICU. I have also had to rely on a wheelchair for mobility. Watching your video gives me hope that, with the right treatment, I can be more present for my family and our precious little girl. Wishing you continued progress and God's blessings on your journey to improved health and well-being! God Speed! PS if you haven't tried Prialt you should ask your doctor about it. It is non-habit forming and would allow you to avoid opioids if that's what they currently have you on. 😃

What kind of medicine is in your pump?????????????
@healthteaspoonie11 ай бұрын
Dilaudid
@psych-out9 ай бұрын
There are 3 approved meds. Morphine, Dilaudid , Baclophen it's an anti-inflammatorys they can be added to pain meds. Dilaudid is short acting compared to Morphine. Morohine lasts longer than Dilaudid. I am going on morphine. I'm surprised spoonie didn't go for the morphine.

I had a pain pump trail done 3 weeks ago. After it I had spinal fluid leak causing headaches. I went in for what it's called a blood patch. It's where they take blood from your arm and inject it into your spine to help replenish fluids lost and most importantly it clots the hole to stop the leakage. My headaches basically went away immediately. They didn't offer anything like that to you?
@healthteaspoonie7 ай бұрын
They would not do a patch for me, they said it could possibly clog the catheter and would not risk it
@lyoe200407 ай бұрын
@@healthteaspoonie that's weird. I had the pain pump implanted in December but last week I had to have the catheter repositioned. I started to have bad headaches and they gave me a blood patch. they just have to make sure they didn't pierce the catheter. My doctor made it seem like it was no big deal to get it done.
@cyndiabell79885 ай бұрын
Yes, a blood patch works immediately. I don’t know why she didn’t go get one either. It’s the vitamin K in your blood that stops it. And you’re right it is immediate.
