I've been a huge fan of Army Painter for how they interact with the community, but the coverage of the Warpaints have been less than stellar. So I'm eagerly looking forward to the Fanatic line based on everything I've seen so far.

A strong pigment like blue should cover just about anything in 2 coats. What am I missing here? How is this special? Full coverage after 2 coats is what I'd expect to happen with most modern miniature paint lines. It's not exactly a standout feature imo.

Looks great. What I take from this is that I am fine with my Vallejo (New) Gamecolor. However I am hyped for their yellows

I love it, I am really curious what you have to say about those. I'm in love with the two thin coats range so far. Best ones I've touched as of now. Albeit citadel, Vallejo and pro Acryl have some paints I love a lot.

I wasn’t able to test paint from the two thin coats range, but I have to agree all brands have some awesome colors in their range that I don’t want to miss.

Sad they sent you 1 bottle. the coolest part is their 6 shade sets. I wish I didn't just buy a full set of the old warpaints a month ago. I'm happy with them but these look really nice

That wash result looks great, I was worried something would go wrong with that part, considering they added a "secret stabilizer" into the paint mix; while this particular paint doesn't look groundbreaking (although it is good enough, as far as I'm concerned), what I'm actually most interested in is whether the whole range has the same coverage regardless of color, since that's the thing they've been hinting at all along - and not having to worry about "I'd really like this in yellow/red, but I don't want to fight the paints again" would be massive for me. Especially if the paints are a color match to their Air line, which are some of the best airbrush acrylics out there. Edit: Also, with this much pigment, I wonder how drybrushing with them works; nobody seems to have covered that part in any review yet, as few as there are

Good point concerning the drybrush! I also got some other questions concerning how the paints work through an airbrush and I might make a followup video about it.

I’m most interested in the cost. Army Painter has targeted the very reasonable 3-5$ range per pot, which is half as much as Citadel. If Fanatic provides any amount of smooth coverage comparable with P3, then it completely invalidates any future purchases of Citadel.

3.50 Euro per bottle. So the cost went up a little bit, but it's still way cheaper than the others. For US folks it went from $3.99 to $4.25 a bottle which is really good.

Wow, they sent you only one bottle? You must be on some unfavorable terms with Army Painter because they usually send out 3 or more on this new product for testing!

Yes, only got one bottle - but I am still super happy about it. Didn't expect to get Fanatic paint at all: Better one than none 😅

No. Its AP. They have done something which makes them laughable. Like SP1 and 2 or their first Acrylics. People are now common with AK or Pro Acryl, TTC or good ol Vallejo. AP is late to the party. I dont see any reason for buyin. Especially because AP is expensive per bottle. I would have bought them 5 years ago in a package when i restarted the hobby....but i bought their first line acrylics....and dumped them 2 weeks later and bought actually good paints. Now there are 10000 painters i never heard of who adv them......i think their other PA dont want to do it anymore after the Speedpaint 2.0 shtstorm.

@@Paint_Quest if you prime with white ink, with a airbrush, which is common, because white primer sucks, many of the 2.0 crackle because they dry to fast and rip off the prime layer. AP isnt able to test a product. The only "speedy" with their paints is the hasted releases. Fun fact: no other Contrast has that issues, even Citadel ones which dry as fast as SP 2.0. Army Painter is a cheapo crapcompany. Their speedpaints suck, their normal paintrange is a joke, call it the separating paints or workout paints. Few years ago they were the "yeah you can buy cheap sets there" but nowadays they are more expensive than vallejo and ak and both kick APs ass hard. Not mentioning pro acryl, warcolours, kimera or TTC. Which are on a similar pricerange. Theres no reason for AP. They released their reactivating shitpaints, tried to silence the critics, then tried to sell this sht as a feature and then they managed to release about 100 new colors in under a year. So they used their customers for betatesting and then theyve done the "we hear you, were sorry" Electronic arts thing. They can s4ck it. Shitcompany. Hope they go bankrupt.
