Exactly. I'm usually cautious and skeptical when it comes to people preaching false doctrines and I don't hesitate to call them out. But in this case, I don't see why people in the comments are insinuating malicious intent by the pastor. Yeah, I probably wouldn't do myself, but hey, this is just a guy who is trying to be relatable to his audience. It's not that deep. He was just doing something cool with HUMILITY. You can literally see his humility in the way he spoke after it. It's church. Yes, we should be serious with teaching. But, we don't have to always be uptight. Regardless though, I must add that the house of God isn't for buying and selling and nonsense. But I don't think God is against His people having a good smile once in a while during service.

But as someone who also used to dunk on religion, (I'm still not religious just educated on the subject matter now) I think you don't realize the communal aspect to it. Obviously each church is different, but many offer community and counsel to those who don't have access to or don't seek it out themselves. Also what is in the Bible vs what people say is in it or twist it to mean are two different things. There are obvious cons to religion, but I think dismissive generalizations are not the way to highlight those. I think in general we should avoid ingorant dismissals.

And lastly never forget those 2 things 1. "Don't be Afraid" is 365 times in The Bible, it's a reminder for us everyday, so never forget that, and 2. My favorite verse, and a verse that will always help you, when you get hated for your beliefs, when you try to treat everyone with love but yet only hatred comes back, keep on forgiving, and keep on Loving, even if it's hard, God is with you, helps you and will understand, always in such situation, think about this verse I will give you, it will completely help you, try to memorize it, I also memorized it, and it helped me in many situations, and it's my absolute favorite verse, because in the country I live in there is much christian hatred and persecution, as I live in the middle east, but anyways the vers: "if the world hates you, just remember that it has hated me first, if you belong to the world, the world would love you as it's own, but I chose you from this World, and you do not belong to it" Yeshua said that himself, it's a reminder for all of us believers to keep on love everyone, even if they only respond with hatred, it's hard, but with God is everything possible! Madness what those rich celebrity mega church pastors do! I mean Kenneth Copeland who drinks his own blood, blasphemes many times, lies to the congregation by saying that God heals and blesses them if they donate thousands of dollars to a men already having 760 Mio while those people have nothing, and that's what all those rich celebrity mega church pastors do that preach a prosperity gospel!! Or they say that were equal with God, or another mega church pastor said while talking about his wife, that she can still "twerk for the lord" that's what he said, or Kenneth Copeland saying "who was the worst men to ever exist? Was it Satan, no it was God!" Or he lies about speaking in Tongues, as he just mumbles non sense, and there are various other ones doing such things, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, TD Jakes (btw he was the one that said this about his wife), Benny Hinn (he said some of the worst lies to his congregation to get money, so that even families with sick children gave their last money because Hinn promised them healing from God if they donate all their money, thousands of dollars, Jesse Duplantis (he even got exposed by his own wife (not on purpos) for lying about the scriptures, and they we're live on TV, he looked so mad at her, as if his short before hurting her, I don't know anymore which scriptur, you can find the video online, but it was something like him saying that the scriptures say "don't be fraid if a Godly one gets his Money on Ungodly ways" or something like that, and his wife unknowingly corrected him saying that it says "don't be afraid if an Ungodly one gets his Money on Ungodly ways" he basically tried to justify himself in biblical way, and The Holy Spirit spoke through his Wife and saying what the scriptures truly say! He looked so mad at her, and tried to talk himself out, you can find this Video on KZbin), anyways just never trust any rich celebrity pastors, no matter what they say, if you see a millionaire pastor, that didn't won lottery or has this money from before preachin, and don't donate some to the poor. Don't trust him, I mean they even say that the bible says that 10% of your income belongs to God, therefore you have to donate it to them as your pastors, but the Scriptures mean 10% of your income to the poor, that's what God want, not to the Millionaire Pastors that already have hundreds of Millions of Dollars, like Kenneth Copeland having 760 Mio and all those other Mega Rich Pastors also have over 100 Mio dollars, so God would rather have that share to be given to the homeless or to the poor rather then to prideful and lying rich mega church pastors that use God's Name for Personal Gain, their Wolves in Sheep's Clothing, their what the bible meant with that, false preacher, stay wise, stay with the holy spirit, and don't trust any Mega Rich Mega Church Pastors, that preach a Prosperity Gospel, and don't even share money with the poor, they don't even believe in God, they just want your money, and use God's Name to accomplish that, stay wise and stay alert you will find your Church Community with trusting in the holy spirit, I myself found the Holy Orthodox church trough that, the pre-denominational church, the Church that exists since the beginning, and still follows the same Christianity as back then, the Church with Apostolic successio, what means that there is a complete lineage of Pastors from the Apostles on ordained till to this day our Pastors., A straight lineage, still does the same biblical worship, the same tradition and the same Christianity as back then, the Church that is completely biblical and uses biblical worship, and worship the same way as the Apostles did, orthodoxy which means true faith, as it is the Church, Christ founded for all of u, it's such a hidden gem nowaday, but it's definitely worth it, and the Holy Spirit and God brought me to the holy Orthodox church, as I grew up Croatian catholic with a great catholic history, my whole fam always was catholic, we even have a catholic saint that lived in our family, it was the cousin of my grandmother's mother, basically the cousin of my great grandmother, so I didn't came to faith trough my family, as I even became atheist once I was old enough to think, but when I had a supernatural encounter with Yeshua (Jesus Real Name) I started to follow him, but I was an Non-denominational Christian that followed Sola-Scriptura, till I found Holy Orthodoxy, I always heard something telling me Orthodox, which I believe to be the Holy Spirit, I saw more and more about orthodoxy and Orthodox churches, and then once entered the holy Orthodox church, I never wanted to leave ever again, I felt the complete peace, the tradition, even the aesthetics, just everything, I felt God more then ever, and since them I an Orthodox Christian, within an Orthodox church, and I can only recommend it to you, check it out, you will surely love it aswell! And lastly never forget those 2 things 1. "Don't be Afraid" is 365 times in The Bible, it's a reminder for us everyday, so never forget that, and 2. My favorite verse, and a verse that will always help you, when you get hated for your beliefs, when you try to treat everyone with love but yet only hatred comes back, keep on forgiving, and keep on Loving, even if it's hard, God is with you, helps you and will understand, always in such situation, think about this verse I will give you, it will completely help you, try to memorize it, I also memorized it, and it helped me in many situations, and it's my absolute favorite verse, because in the country I live in there is much christian hatred and persecution, as I live in the middle east, but anyways the vers: "if the world hates you, just remember that it has hated me first, if you belong to the world, the world would love you as it's own, but I chose you from this World, and you do not belong to it" Yeshua said that himself, it's a reminder for all of us believers to keep on love everyone, even if they only respond with hatred, it's hard, but with God is everything possible! These type of churches always confused me. I’ve been to church, mostly Catholic around arizona and they’re usually built very eloquently (not just some auditorium), it’s usually well organized, no one really talks either. It’s just go, prayer, leave.
