You are definitely right. In time I think prices will drop on mini PCs. These more powerful ones are newer but not long ago all mini PCs were expensive and now your more basic lower performance ones are around 150-225 give or take

Agreed. It does seem that prices do tend to come down though with more and more mini pcs coming into the market. A couple years ago they were all quite expensive and now at least the lower end ones have become more affordable. I think we will see that with the more expensive higher end ones in time.

I just ordered one of these today and was curious if anyone was turning it into a retro gaming system. I'm going to put Batocera on it and install Steam so I can play some newer games too. Excited to work on this thing. I'm glad the RGB isn't tied to Windows so I can still use them with another OS.

Hi, Got one today but having some issues with the AX200 wifi card - tried everything so far - could be defective. Processor is a beast. Trying a factory reset now. Wifi signal strength is garbage. 2.4ghz works fine when next to the router. I purchased a wifi dongle. Everything else about the pc looks good. Ram gets hot under load but my benchmarks have all shown good results. I have the 7735hs model with 32gb ram (2x16gb), 1tb ssd. Crazy offer on Amazon, was £279.99.

Update: The memory runs super hot. 82.5c when gaming. This is a massive concern for me. There is no cooling for the ram at all. Gutted. I will be returning the unit. Also the tech support takes ages to respond.

What is the end all be all best mini computer out there that will play modern and retro games perfectly, no compromises? I’ve watched countless hours of videos about this and there’s always a compromise where it doesn’t play perfectly, it’s plays it good enough. Sinden light guns are made for modern tvs and connect via usb so they are compatible with just about anything modern. If you use batocera to emulate games the sinden light guns are plug and play with their software being fully integrated automatically.

Hey! It's a great mini pc. One of my personal favs. I used batocera which comes with everything ready to go you just have to add rom and bios files but that's easy to do.

I like the ser6 max more. It's got the same amount of power better graphics and it's smaller. It's not light years better by any means. They are definitely very close in performance but that one inches ahead slightly in my opinion.

The Amazon link you posted seems to go to a version with the 7735 instead of the 7840, its a slower processor with zen 3+ cores and a 680m instead. I also couldn't find a price on their website linked.

I used the sinden light gun very similar to guncon but modern tech so it works better. I just did a video on the gun con 3 with modern emulation and wasn't a big fan. Found it to be very limited and definitely had some lags.

No it's not a plug and play setup. I use a batocera drive which I connect externally and boot right into for the older stuff then I use steam on windows for the new stuff

I love, no LOVE the large booklet/manual. I am not a young boy any more, I can't stand tiny font on tiny pages. Plus I love computer manuals. :) Why are all the retro games footage stretched? I know some people don't mind, but I find it disgusting stretching 4:3 games to widescreen. Just me. Good review, the system looks good for what it has inside. The slightly larger size isn't really a problem as far as I am concerned, especially if it helps with the cooling. The overall looks is fine by me and I do like the lights. The price is nowhere to be seen Amazon or the official site. Not that I could afford it, just saying. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the support here. Stretched just for the sake of the video. Content here is 16:9 so I try to use all of the screen in videos. A lot more people get worked up and confused about the 4:3 being in videos so I generally will stretch purely for the sake of the content. I get the frustrations for purists like yourself. Have to remember we have a whole generation now that has no idea that 4:3 aspect ratio was ever a thing and they wonder what's wrong with the pc when they see something in 4:3. We are getting old I guess haha.

There's only 2 reviews 1 is 5 star and 1 is 1 star. It averages out to 3 star but I don't think there's enough reviews posted to accurately cover it. The bad review seems to be due to an issue the user had with usb ports being tight. Seems like a weird issue. I didn't experience that myself. They claim there's other units with the same layout for less but I don't know that to be true. Often times mini PCs can easily share the same layouts and shells but they differ heavily inside. I have 2 minis I'm reviewing now. One is a AceMagic and one is a KAMRUI. They are almost identical yet have different specs.
