Fish do not see well in murky waters, they rely on a gland in their heads that senses vibrations in the water, which tells them both the size and location of their prey. That’s why heavy rattles in baits scare bass. The extra vibration and sound makes the bait seem like a bigger fish than it might be able to easily eat. I did a whole masters thesis on the behaviour of fish in relation to their prey. I specifically looked at Atlantic Salmon, Striped bass, Smallmouth, and Rainbow Trout in fresh water. God, I’m glad I started a guide/charter fishing business instead of continuing in the Marine Biology field. Make far more money, and get to fish every day.

Hey brother, I hate to see ya struggle down here in FL. When the going gets tough ! Myself! I will hook on a black senko , Gary Yamamoto!! It has a high amount of salt needed to give that bait the wiggle wobble action needed as it falls.. I rig it wacky style, and get out in those hydrilla mats .. do not run that trolling motor!!!😱😱😱😱. Lift up everything and set up a wind drift. Dropping that bait in every hole you can . Let it fall on slack line. It's gotta fall flat and level or it won't work right. I promise you, your gonna get your arm broke in a few of them holes. One hole is gonna have ten thousand dollars in it. Don't go tossing a spinning rod in there or you get what you deserve. 😅😅😅😅😅. Broke off and nightmares for a month. 😮😮😅😅😅😅 I realize as a pro, you know all these things. But being a pro you get to learn so much , and so many new tricks that we sometimes forget the old reliable ones that used to put em in the boat.. I learned this on OKEECHOBEE. Talk about a GRIND brother!! 😅😅. U know !!! U know exactly!! 😅😅 When the sun is up and shining, that hydrilla is producing O2.. when the sun is not out its producing CO2. So on them Grindy sunny days give it a try. It will possibly carry you from zero to hero ..
