I used to live on the bank of a river and there was loads of it, it always fascinated me how quickly and violently your skin reacts, amazing stuff, it was originally imported from Russia for ornamental gardens, but they quickly realised the folly when they found out how it takes over and if you cut it down it grows back in just a few days...amazing stuff. great post Alfie.

Oh happy days! Today is my 27th wedding anniversary and a new Alfie video. Life get no better. I have not even watched the vid and I have to comment. Since I have found your channel. Me and my son have been gearing up for spring fungi hunting in the mountains of Virginia. Got me the BK7 awesome blade. (Got to watch out for Spindalshanks) Books on plant and fungi to eat. Oh and every time the family and I sit down to eat my 7yr old girl says "We got cheeky nibbles for days." and any thing else she can find to say with "for days." We thank you for all that you do. Your channel is the best.

Heya, glad you made an ID video about this fierce and fibrous foe. Everything in Nature has a job to do, and while I'm not sure what this things natural job is, but it does a good job of curing complacency! There's a growing (heh) problem with it in the US, so very good to ID it at it's smaller stages too. Thanks!

Interesting video giant hogweed once it's been dead for a good while and submerged in water it's harmless I've made primitive flutes from them in the past 😬! I wouldn't advise playing with the stuff unless your confident you know what your dealing with!
@ColdnCruel4445 жыл бұрын
had a summer job cutting these with a weed wacker, if you get some pulp and juice on your skin and don't rinse it of immediatly it will sprout blisters that will pop in to festering wounds, funny thing is you can develope an immunity for them, least in my case. Some other guys got some serious chemical burns and had to get treatment. After awhile I only started to get black spots like acid burns on the skin but no blisters, regardless, my hands looked like something a salamander would have for skin. A few months later those black spots would just fade away.
