What I usually do is I use whatever kick that I want and then just modify the envelope in the sampler so it's more "bursty".

Yep that's what I do as well often! This plugin can help you fine tune your envelope time then as well. It was easiest for the demo to show different kicks though.

All this time I just low-passed my track at 100hz using eq and just run it through free waveform analyzer like Schope or Psyscope. Basically the same thing. I guess this is faster. If it's not free, it's not worth it.

This is free for the month of February with the code MILESAWAY ! And what you are doing is great, but it’s not the same unless your eq allows you to only view the mid channel information below 100hz. If you are using 3 plugins to do the same thing as one, this is probably a solid time and cpu saver then.

A high end one would be sick actually. Mid range I don’t know how that could work as there’s just so much going on there on a track by track basis, but maybe someone can figure it out! Soothe2 is the best plug-in I’ve ever used for cleaning up mid range in a musical way.
