Smants on-the-fly strategising is absolutely unreal. He's often not as honed at any of these games as other big speedrunners, but he is seriously the example of guile and speed of wit over raw experience with a game. It is untrue how, given an unknown version of the game, strategies he's never heard of, pokemon he's not sure about, he's able to make tactical decisions which are often even supposedly 'non-optimal' in a full-time speedrunner's eyes, to outpace his opponent. Something special about that mind.
@phthalo_blue2 жыл бұрын
I remember seeing his nomination for best speedrunner a while back, and this is exactly one of the reasons I thought he deserved top spot. Just as a really funny streamer/KZbinr can make any game enjoyable to watch, Smallant can make any run enjoyable because he's incredibly creative and good at strategising on the spot. I think that's quite unique among most speedrunner videos, and it's always fascinating to watch how he pulls through each time.
