We moved to Portugal from Spain because we'd had enough of Spanish "house arrest" (Covid lockdown), and we are much, much, happier here. Lovely people, just so friendly, and we are far more integrated with the locals. It's not a perfect culture by any stretch, and nowhere near as modern, wealthy or sophisticated as Spain, but it's got real heart. We love it, including our two teens.

Portugal and Spain are very similar though, specially if you know that Spain is very diverse and Galicia is very different from the Mediterranean coast. It's not the same country, of course, but not that different as most people say.

Living in Portugal, specially in the Algarve is far superior than any part of Spain. Do not take my word for it , go to both Nations , and see the differences.

Olá Stuart. Happy New Year! You are in my very favourite place in Portugal. I spent 3 months there a few years ago. I am currently back in Portugal (finally) and I'm in Setúbal... (friend had a sublet)... BUT, I'm so missing the Costa Prata! I will make sure I visit Peniche before I head back to Canada... and now I'm certain that the Peniche area is the right place for me! Setúbal is nice for a little visit, but I cannot see myself living here and desperately wish I could just spend the rest of my visit where you are... but I'm committed to being here for a while. Still, it is wonderful to be back in Portugal! p.s. I LOVED the Portuguese vegetable soup (sopa de legumes)

Finally in Portugal. I'm from not far from where you are. Very good idea to do a different video. Portugal is totally different from Spain, starting by the people. The home food is also different . It's less industrialised, less fatty, less sauces. Anyway Spain has its virtues like Portugal has too. Come more times!

I've never been to Spain, but have been to Portugal. I'm only there off season, and its beauty always surprises me. It seems to have everything: mountains, foothills, plains, beaches, megalithic stone circles, and beautiful cities with palaces and museums. Even the trash-strewn purlieus have something attractive about them. I've only seen a small area so far and wish to see more. I don't dare imagine living there, but apparently she has too few American expats.

I can tell you that for the past 2 months the water temperature has been on par or higher than the air temperature in the majority of the west coast, despite the unusual warm temperatures that we've been having during these two months (only the highs, the lows have been relatively normal for the season). Unfortunately, both are a consequence of the climate changes we're experiencing.

Its not costal erosion, Sir 😊 it is called waves. The ocean takes away sand when there is a specific weather causing specific waves direction and eventually it will bring it back again. It dependes on the winds and types of waves coming from a specific side of the coast.

Regarding erosion, after 62 years I can definitely say that the sand comes and goes. Never has the sand only receeded. It all comes back either after a short month or 1 year but there is no permanent erosion here, so far that is.
@nandoneto13916 күн бұрын
Exactly, the erosion exists for the ones that build to near to the beach. I'm 55 years old and I remember the older people from my town ( Lavra, Matosinhos) saying " what belongs to the sea, soon or later, He comes to get back" and is so true.
