I knew about this in 2003. I spent a lot of time going through all of my saves to see which ones changed the animations. I'd say almost anyone who only had one memory card and regularly had to clear space for new games noticed as well. Not exactly a 'mind blowing' Easter egg... more of a neat little amusing feature.

No online play, social distractions with group chats, achievements, spoilers, spam advertising, I could go on. Just me, my console, a Mountain Dew, Doritos, and whichever TREASURED game I had saved up enough money to buy. I was more appreciative back then. @@dysonburt3309 everything is simple when your a kid i as much as I enjoyed the n64 , GameCube, and ps2 I had they don't compare in the slightest to ps4 or ps5 truthfully the ps3 is what I played the most n64 I only played SM64 DK64 and 007 GE, GameCube I had zelda and couple others , PS2 I had MK shoalin Monks, GT, Battleships, and a couple more, Ps3 I had tons of downloads and shit ton of other games that would make this way to long lol seeing how the graphics got so much better and being able to play with my friends and the best part not having to worry about losing your memory card with your save files.

On the Sims 2, its file was a crystal/plumbob. If you press delete, it will turn into a gravestone with an orchid. Same with Sims 2: Castaway. Its file was palm tree. If you press delete, the palm tree will wilt like it's dying.

I haven't went past it and am a bit late to the new game scene but am just waiting to get my hands on a PS5 for the retail price. I am enjoying the classics and now have quite a collection that one day will have more value based off the condition. I enjoy these videos shedding light on the PS2 and I didn't know about all these Easter eggs such as FFX being one of my teenage years favorites. I really enjoyed learning about that.

I kinda knew about this when I was organizing my Okami saves back in the days, the icon was a bouncing smol and green glowing Issun, and when you pressed delete he would bounce harder with a red glow, as if he was enraged that the save was being deleted lol I thought it was cute

I knew about some of the icons animating differently for certain games for deleting or copying files, but I did not know that the icon can change altogether depending on progress of the game file. That was an interesting thing to learn.

Ridge Racer 5 is another game that does this too, when you attempt to delete the file the default red car used as the save icon will flip onto it its roof and rock back and forth like a bug on its back

The PS2 animated save file feature also works on the PS3 if you have a backwards compatible model. I discovered that Clock Tower 3's save icon, the character Alyssa will cower in fear if you try to delete it

With analogue triggers and 6DoF motion sensing, and rumble removed if it's the older sixaxis. EDIT: I forgot the PlayStation button replacing the analogue/digital mode toggle. More like DS2 is just DS with pressure sensitive buttons (edit: and two levels of vibration intensity).
