As a person who actually took the PSLE this year,I can certainly confirm that the most difficult question for Psle maths was the question about the coins ,looked at the question last as I skipped it until I finished everything and I was stuck at that question for 20 minutes straight trying to figure out what the question was all about and still couldn't solve it.

Happy 2 year anniversary to this PSLE question! Unfortunately, I am the creator of the 3rd wattpad story.. sorry i have no idea what i was on. Jokes aside, it was fun making people laugh after the difficult math paper and the whole purpose of me writing the wattpad story was to lighten the mood of the 12 year olds. It kinda blew up overnight and I was glad seeing people laughing about it and making jokes. Without telling many people I wrote it, I was surprised to see and hear people talking about my story to their friends. One of my close friends even sent me a picture of their cousin reading my story.. 😭. I came back to this video as someone reminded me of Helen and Ivan.. Anyways I just wanted to clear up the misunderstandings here. I did not write the story to sexualise the characters. Yes, I am aware ( as of now ) that they can and might be minors. But as when I wrote the story, the main purpose was so I could cheer up the Primary 6 students, and not to sexualise any characters. I am sorry if it made anyone uncomfortable. Anyways as of today and 2 years ago, you’ll not be able to find my story on wattpad anymore as it is deleted. I hope that everyone can forget about the story I made and move on with our lives.. I know it’s impossible to completely forget it but… I would appreciate it if we could just take this as a past way of relieving stress. ( All shits and giggles ). I’m grateful my story kinda blew up and I know many of the ‘09 students know it. This whole wattpad thing also generally helped me cope through PSLE and I’m proud to say I got AL 1 for math, thank you Helen and Ivan. But I think it would be best if we forget it sooner or later. Thank you for the 2 years and happy anniversary 🎉

Hihi! I found you in my recommended. I took my PSLE this year and I think it was... I guess quite an experience. Here's my opinion on this year's math PSLE. I don't think it was that bad?? But after paper 1 (MCQ and booklet B, calculator not allowed) finished, I only had one friend cry as she didn't finish the last two questions. After recess she was fine because good food is what makes everyone happy. Anyway, in paper 2 I skipped 2 questions and a part B question that made me lost 12 marks :( I obviously skipped the coin question because did SEAB expect me to bring a weighing machine and lots of coins for exam??? After the exam, my friends were quite chill, maybe some panicking, but all say it was bad except me so I now very scared that I'm just delusional or something. Even the smallest person in class say that she found the questions hard!!! Aaaa I really hope to get AL 20 for PSLE so I can get into SOTA. They already gave me a confirm offer and I don't want it to go down the drain like that ;0 My opinion about the fanfiction: It's very questionable...? I feel very concerned about the children who wrote that. I hope their parents are not strict about grades and they don't get their ass whooped. All in all, I think that the expectations of the parents or the child will make the children have these kinds of reactions. My mummy says as long as I have a good heart, I'm already a very good child to her and nothing will change that. To all the P6s, no one will love you less no matter how much you get for PSLE okays?? In my opinion, the psle maths paper can be very easy if you didnt just memorize the the answers, but actually understand the concept of the question. I myself took the psle last year and it was easy :D also dont hate on me this is just my own opinion

I don't believe you've noticed that there is a pattern where the PSLE Math papers set in odd-numbered years (2017, 2019, 2021) are ultimately set harder, and those set in even-numbered years are considerably easier. (I'm envious of you, though, knowing that should I have been born a year earlier, I would've gotten an easier Math paper.) I hate Helen and Ivan and I hope you do too. They absolutely killed my confidence when I took the paper this year, and I still feel like crying when I hear my classmates (90% of them being Math geniuses) discussing how easy they found it. Not everyone will find it simple enough to do.

I really don't get why people are so upset about the questions. It's a differentiation question, that separates the good and very good. I understand the stress of the exam and that every mark matters but tossing away your paper and giving up throws away more marks that that few difficult questions. People are never grateful when there's an easy paper, and take to social media to attack moe when there's a hard paper. Why don't they help their child focus on the next paper instead of wreaking havoc online. Their own action cause an equally large amount of stress to the students. They aren't possibly going to change anything since the paper has already been done, and the students' peers would have done equally bad as them if the paper was really that hard. So I really don't get what's the fuss about. That aside, the question was very easy to me and my peers, who unlike most parents, don't drill their child with tuition but breed flexible and abstract thinkers. So, please, change your mindsets instead of criticising factors that you cannot control. -An RI student Edit : some people have also pointed out that the question about coins in badly worded. I do not think so, in primary school questions "amount of money" almost always refers to monetary value, and psle usually does not adopt formal phrasing but generally use terms that students are familiar with. Now people are attacking this too? To prove my point: John has five 1cent coins, Jim has 1 ten dollar note. Who has more MONEY?

This is what happen when those old people think they know kids better. I’m not talking about parents, but those who make the question exams. Math is already complicated by itself, now they want kids, not those in middle or high school, but kids, to find such answer. Seriously, by doing this, what are they trying to prove? Maybe they put their own kids study and tuition class 16 hours per day,but other kids around tender age should have the freedom to experience their childhood and spend time with their parents. They should be nurtured and taught about moral values since younger generation these days lack of it.

Wisdom does not come from Education system. Regurgitation of knowlege is not Wisdom. Knowledge is knowing but that is not wisdom. Eg. If you memorise , you can say you know something. But it does not mean you really understand anything. Education system is highly over rated
