Hi Irene - I so love your approach and attitude towards your craft and your love really comes through in the videos 👍😊. My idea would be to see if you can make some quilt blocks that contain designs of your amigurumi creations - monkey, chicken, cactii (I know you have cactii already but you could make them more “amigurumi” stylised...) - I have NO idea how you turn designs into FPP patterns but would love to know how - so would happily pay for a class or book to learn how to do this 😊. Keep up all your wonderful work 😍

We were so entertained just playing with my mom’s button collection. Simple things!

Irene Thank you for sharing your story. The Sugaridoo Sampler is such a happy quilt. Quilts are so special. My Grandmother taught me to sew and crochet. She quilted, but like you, it never appealed to me. Sadly, she died before quilting became a joy to me. Each time I do a project, she is my inspiration. Continue on your journey. Sharing this art is a gift of love. Thank you again. Be safe! Megan Jones

I would love to see a sampler with some more of Dutch culture, traditions, ie. windmills, dutch clogs, Delft Blue, ice skating, speculaas cookies, gouda cheese, soccer, the Dutch flag. My parents emigrated to Canada in 1952 and settled in Ontario, 🇨🇦. I would love to make a sampler of many of the items that bring back memories of Dutch culture and heritage. I love the idea of creating a sampler using the various blocks of what is meaningful to a specific person. My mom was from Groesbeek and my father was from Nijmegen. What area of Holland do you live? I've been a Realtor for almost 20 years, and it's been so fun to imagine leaving that job to sew everyday and inspire others to sew. How about a quilt sampler with blocks having to do with the things around home. Whatever you create will be great!

What I love the most about your designs is the fact that you incorporate the designs of the fabric into the quilt itself. Most people just incorporate the shape they created then add in the specific colors they want there. You take it a step further, look at the actual prints on the fabric and choose how you will use their uniqueness and their charm to make the shapes even better and more meaningful. It is SPECTACULAR! I feel so lucky to have found you and your channel, and your fabrics and quilt designs, and your adorable and very charming personality. When I really like something on youTube, I stop the video midstream then rush to the link so I can buy whatever I need to re-create the quilt you have designed that I fell in love with. It is kind of funny that you are Holland and I’m from the US; I have several connections to Holland. My husband worked and saved money so he could go live there while a junior in high school with the family of a university professor (husband) and a a psychologist (wife). I even met them years later when they came to visit us in the mid 1990s. Wonderful people. Plus my husband married another American whose parents were both Dutch. He was a professor here in the States and they were such lovely people. Anyway, I’m pausing the video now so I can go SHOP at your store!!

Good Morning! I loved listening to your story, and seeing your lovely creations! I am a European American. The first ancestor of mine to come to America was James Dykeman from Holland. That was over 400 years ago...1603! He settled in New Amsterdam and most of our family has stayed in the north east! He had a farm in what is now NYC! I I am now inspired to visit Holland and Scandinavia and to begin designing a quilt commemorating his homeland, his ocean journey, and his new life in America! Thank you! Lilly VB PS I have always loved and grown Dutch tulips and one of my favorite cookie recipes is for Dutch Tile Cookies!

my passions (besides quilting) are gardening--both vegetables and flowers, golf, sewing my clothing, and walking the trails in beautiful NE Iowa to admire the wide variety of trees and how the leaves change in the fall. Here's another idea that is quite personal for me right now...I had a double mastectomy last week because of breast cancer. I'm not doing reconstruction for various reasons but I'm fresh into adjusting to a new body. A collection of ladies of all sizes, with and without boobies would be amazing. I know that there are other quilts out there with similar themes but I love your fun designs and wonders of the world would give you years worth of inspiration! Oh Irene, it gives me such a warm feeling in my heart to hear your love story with Sugaridoo. I love watching your videos because you're of your smile. I am so so happy for you and your happiness in both with your family and business. 💕💕💕 I remember watching you bicycling during your pregnancy, you were working so hard but still smiling. Perhaps a block of Happy Pregnant Ladies doing fun things. Much love to you Irene. 🥰🥰🥰 Sylvia

Irene, Thank you, for sharing your story with all of us! I love your passion and excitement! How about bringing back the old fashioned sun bonnet sue pattern? Or utilizing the blanket stitch available on more modern sewing/quilting machines that mimics the embroidery look for 1930-1940 era butterflies ?

Hi Irene, I love you're work, and your tutorials, they are awesome as your quilts too. I make some quilts too, and You inspire me to try foundation paper piecing, but I didn't try it yet... In your next sampler you should make some water lillys and dragonflys, maybe dandelions and poppys with ladybugs and grasshoppers... Like a summery meadow. Big hugs, 💕 Ildikó

I just started learning how to make block paper pieces. This is the first time I’ve watched your videos and I already subscribed. I want to be inspired and learn from you. I will be retiring in a year and wanted to do quilting all my life so this is the time to start. You asked for ideas on your new pattern book. I always love flowers and a gardening tools theme would be very pretty. The challenge is that flower are generally round. I think all types of flowers would be cute. 💐🌷🌹🌻🌼🌸🌺🥀

I loved your video!!! What a beautiful story of love and success!! You are obviously doing what you love and you are so passionate about crafting and it shows!! I would to have the pattern book in English (an e-book would be difficult to work with)...and I would love to see a traditional Dutch quilt will all of the lovely Dutch things we know.. windmills, clogs, cheese, canals and barges, all of it!! I love the Netherlands and it could probably turn into another pattern book with all if the designs you could create!! Keep sewing and creating I love it all!!
