My friend might have this condition. He was super buff in his old photos as a child. He hasn't worked out ever and can barely lift, but hes ripped as shit, 8 pack and everything. He looks and feels like hes always flexing his muscles every second. He has to stretch a lot before he does anything physical or else he gets stiff in his movements, without stretching his arms he cant even make a proper closed fist. His grandmother also apparently had that condition and hes the only one of his brothers like that.

My best friend in high school had this condition. He showed me an old picture. Six pack at the age of 7. Two years later, 8 pack. He gained muscles by drinking milk. By the age of 14, he max benched 137 kg. Like me, he was a total nerd. He told me he felt like a mutant, a freak and eventually depressed. It's hard to fathom unless you see it with your own eyes. Awesome, jet tragic at the same time.
@melinamaria8523 Жыл бұрын
My family have this gene, my dad picked up a car when he was 8 yeas old and all of my siblings have been way stronger than anyone else our age or older when we were kids, when I was about 6 I remember doing about 50 pull ups without thinking about it and when I was about 9-10 I was stronger than 14 year old boys and I’m a girl 😂 it means you have muscle memory too so even if you haven’t worked in ages then you start, you instantly get your strength back. This gene also came up in a DNA test that my sister took
@willek1335 Жыл бұрын
@@melinamaria8523 He he. That's pretty cool, and sounds familiar. I think a friend of mine have the same thing, at least to a degree. Easily gets six pack. Just cycling up a hill a couple of times, and boom, visible leg muscles out of nowhere. She doesn't like the look much, but I can tell you she wan't complaining when we were play-fighting on a lawn over the rights to a sunscreen bottle. 😂 What was the DNA thing about?
@mmkt9487 Жыл бұрын
@@willek1335 so you’re saying you know two people with this gene? I call bullsh*t, it’s very very rare.
@willek1335 Жыл бұрын
@@mmkt9487 "so you're saying you know two..." oh, let me clarify. In the first example, it ticks all the boxes. 100%, and confirmed by his doctors at the time. The latter case is far more ambiguous. It's not something we've thought about a lot. I think she has it to some degree, or similar components. It could also be a related, jet not the exact same thing. On one hand she has the muscle growth, the same tendency to grow faster and more, while doing very little activity to gain it. Can easily get six pack. Way stronger than any woman I've ever seen. On the other hand - She has higher than average body fat, which is a definite contradiction. - She actively tried to hide its effect out of shame, and thus avoid things like strength related exercises. - I've not known her when she was younger, when we're in our peak. - It's close, but she's not stronger than me, a guy who exercises regularly and has a pretty average foundation. - She's shorter than average woman, so less frame. - She's a woman, so that could also mitigate the muscle effect. In the first case, yes. In the latter case, I don't know. I'm not an expert, hence why I think "at least to some degree." I hope that helps. Cheers.

#DearBlocko I wonder what type of damage can we survive if our bones where as strong as teeth and our muscle where as strong as tongue 🤔....

ZeUs GaMiNg actually it’s about the same :/ our bones are about as strong a teeth, considering teeth IS a bone, and our muscles are about the same as our tongue

Disrupting the gene expression for myostatin alone made the muscles larger but not stronger, and I have to suspect it is because myostatin and follistatin are meant to be in a sort of closed loop balance. Your genetics determine what that ratio of one to the other is supposed to be, and if geneticists were more sophisticated they could manipulate the ratio up or down. Simply taking away one or the other appears to not be an answer. I think it is probable that you have to alter both the myostatin and follistatin genes. OR supplement them in a way that does not mimic an imbalance.
