@@Jarlaxl.Baenre high quality white ones are, as are fancy colored ones. Opal isn't "rare" either, but nice ones sure are. Almost no mineral is rare if you're disregarding quality. And value wise, disregarding the cost and time it takes to go from underground ore to a gem on your jewelry.
@gjoejoe80464 жыл бұрын
Thats how he can probably make up the difference in loss, add another precious gem as a filler and it might just raise the value of the gem more so then if you are to just leave it how it is, but then again the original later on might turn out to be worth more without the additions, its kinda a gamble on whats going to happen with value of it, but for aesthetics it would be beautiful to see

Here's a thought. Inlay a piece of monocrystaline silicon of the type used to make integrated circuits. You can buy polished wafers or even chunks of it fairly inexpensively. It polishes to a dark mirror finish. It also kind of fits because opal is ultimately made of silicon.

It then revealed more blue color play right across the middle. It's Australian. It is a crystal with blue color play. It has blue and black potch. Lighter color tone. Started the size of a u.s. quarter and finished right at the size of my thumbnail. It's a mark of my skill as a flintnapper as I waited over a year with it for it's day. Turned out amazing! And now I get to carry it with the other orange jasper arrowhead on my necklace.

For the life of me, I don't know why if a pattern resembles the actual Chinese written language and you nickname it "Chinese writing" how that's offensive in any way at all. It is literally just an acknowledgment that the pattern resembles the Chinese language in written form. Our planet is doomed I swear.
@chuckschillingvideos3 жыл бұрын
It's not offensive to anyone who isn't actively looking to be offended. Could just easily have been Japanese writing, or Korean writing, etc. Many asian nations use pictograph alphabets (and whole words) that look very similar and it isn't a pejorative.
@matthewmcmaster27314 жыл бұрын
I think you should cut a small round piece of Fire Opal and add that to the center it would make the whole gem pop so much more. Could even inset a thin foil of Silver or Gold to catch the light underneath it and send it right back out to your eye. I'm no gem expert or jewelry expert in any way but I can just picture that in my mind as being so unique that nobody ever has or will in the future. ONE of a KIND! BEAUTIFUL!
@Jamfogerty4 жыл бұрын
why the hell is chinese writing not "politically correct"!?! is not like it's refering to something bad or in a rascist way, is just saying that it kinda looks like chinise writing (althoug I don't see thatmuch of a resemblance) and it's nothing wrong with that!, you gotta by so racist to think that's racist
@vichess73154 жыл бұрын
Yeah the funny thing is most of these "politically incorrect" names only offend people that aren't of these nationalities or the cancel culture. Pretty sure actual Chinese people are not walking around all day worried about an opal pattern called Chinese writing. Soon the term "Chinese food" will on the cancel culture's hit list. Sterilize everything I guess.

I didn't know that such a pattern was even possible, simply amazing! As i see it, there is two ways of making use of that hole for a ring design: 1) Glue a round gem into it so that it fills the hole completely, a blue pearl or a dumortierite quartz perhaps? 2) Drill the hole all the way through and place a gold umbrella-like cap that will sit on the edges of the hole and make it so that it is screwed into the metal base of the ring through the hole like a bolt. :D
