Played this mod quite a bit back and most of it is pretty fun with the exception of that damn temperature thing. Can't live anywhere cold or hot or you die by existing constantly, and even in decent zones when winter or summer roll around (because there are seasons) you are stuck either in a 1 block of water to not die of heat stroke in seconds or by some source of heat or you die by hypothermia in seconds. Add to it at least at the time (no clue what's changed with the mod pack by now) the only source of being able to mitigate the constant temperature death was by wearing this really fecking annoying to make armor liner that was unrealistically hard to make considering you drop inventory on death and constantly die to existing in the wrong area or the occasional mob drive by. WIthout that one temperature mod this pack is a ton of fun to get through with all the neat stuff to discover.

Also, a small tip, there should be a small inventory in your menu somewhere (Might get it through a quest, havent played much since the hats were introduced) That you can put all the quest hats you earn in so they arent taking up regular inventory space

I think the expectation is that players of the mod will be so good at minecraft that they are no longer challenged by it, and so the difficulty starts off in the mod much higher. Though, it does seem like the start is a little bit too restricted. It seems like you arbitrarily can't do anything early on.
