@@sicksadworld42I thank you for that. Because the enemy team will always do everything in their power to make it an absolute nightmare for us. They are like emongg chat, after hitting 2 firestrikes in a row on a enemy dps they will decide this is a ego vod of said rein and will make sure it doesn't end like that.

I just learned about the damage cancel yesterday, though I stopped playing around the middle of OW1 and only came back a few months ago. Just a few weeks ago I realized Winston has a alt fire now, and I’m only now getting my muscle memory to stop trying to drop a shield as orisa. It’s been an experience, slowly realizing every change/new mechanic since when I was playing regularly before.

10:56 Something important for lower level players to keep in mind, especially on tank, is this: How many mistakes away are you from complete destruction? Again, 10:56 is a perfect example. So chat, how many mistakes is this Rein away from being steamrolled on 1st point? Answer: 1. ONE mistake from complete disaster. You may attribute it to rng outcome, to being outplayed, to making a bad decision -so many things. But the root is still, that you leave zero room for error by playing aggro out in the open in front of the enemy team, with no option to fall back or reposition. Basically, the moment things start going bad in a spot like this, they go from 0-100 in an instant. You fall over. It doesn't matter if you're bronze or top 500, if you play aggro like this in such a position, and anything disrupts your play, you fold immediately. I am not saying you should play more passively, I'm saying you should play more defensively, in the sense that you're always in a position where things can be allowed to escalate over time, and you give yourself a buffer zone to compensate for -if- *when* things go wrong. Because they WILL go wrong. You will lose focus for a split second, or the enemy will out-ability you, or they'll build enough ults to power through your gigachad alpha dominance asserting main protagonist aura you're exuding from standing with your glorious shield right in their Hog's face, mocking him and showing your superiority. It'll work out for you 9/10 fights, but that 10th fight always comes sooner or later, and by then you have no option left other than resigning yourself to be the silver ass player you are offering up for free to the enemy. 11:25 highlights it perfectly. A simple tiny mistake as small as turning around 180 degrees for just a moment - and BAM, the Hog hooks you into his team and you're dead, and your team falls and you lose the point. Well, the Hog is also silver and didn't pay attention this time, but that's a 50/50 gamble you're running every single fight. Betting a 50/50 in a situation where you have FULL HP and half your shield left still, and both cooldowns available. So many resources, yet you throw it all away not just because your decision making was subpar, but because your position means that any subpar decision you make, can throw you instantly back to spawn with zero chance of de-escalation or threat mitigation. Instant death, for just turning your character 180 degrees in a split second. It's "little" things like this, that tends to keep people in silver and gold - not because they're overall bad players, but because they put themselves in situations where any mistake that anyone could accidentally commit to, or any rng that even a GM could fall victim to, is guaranteed to send you back to spawn. So instead of just focusing on committing no mistakes, try to focus on being aware of when you put yourself in a situation where a mistake or a single rng outcome becomes an instant risk of defeat. The less susceptible you are to these things escalating from 0-100 instantly, the more consistent you will provide value in your matches, and negate "free" value for the enemy team. Simple rules of thumb to position better; 1. always hug walls and play around corners 2. be in LOS of your supports 3. don't have long straight fall-back routes 4. don't expose yourself to more than 1 enemy at a time when possible 5. be close to a healthpack when possible That's how you truly improve as a player. Dumb shit happens to everyone, but you gotta make sure you're in a spot to deal with dumb shit in the first place, instead of actually standing in the toilet itself as shit inevitably falls on you from above.

6:50 I am beyond happy someone did this and Emongg pointed it out. Baiting out cooldowns is so important, especially from supports, yet most people complain about exactly this and make fun of you if you tell them to bait out this or that to make their life easier. This Rein got out two cds with one little charge. It really isn't that hard, people

in terms of charge usage this rein has a lot of potential, stopping at the right moment, but just taking a little bit to long to follow up afterwards, putting up his shield instead of a swing that can take out one on the enemy team. you can get a lot of value out of a charge that doesn't connect followed by one or two swings (if you are healthy enough) and then shielding up and backing away. you put pressure on the enemy team and allow you dps to finish them.

A bad plan is better than no plan. In this meta, you play with your tank at least somewhat and keep them alive or you fall apart as a team.
@kattastrophe7240
@kattastrophe7240 Жыл бұрын
I do think there’s a slight difference between carrying and enabling them. You can enable bad plans/plays all day long and not have the win because it’s just that bad. I’ve had tanks thank me for the carry, and I’ve had it where an enemy team says “tank diff” and our tank immediately say, “nah I’m a trash tank; my supports just carried tf out of me.” The difference between carry and enabling to do their best varies from game to game, situation to situation, etc. It really depends.

wow... been playing overwatch since it released back a age ago and i first learned today that you could block Rams ult with shield to lower its uptime. i mean i guess i knew about blocking the dmg, but not the fact that you would block the "infinite" time he gets when you're in the aoe. Also, backcaps works fine on lower ranks. you might not get the point, but you'll have destroyed any defensive formation the enemy team have and your team will roll over them if they take the opportunity. so many times i've lost the point because my entire team decide to go to point and remove whoever is capping. turning their backs to the enemy team and getting killed in the process.

As an Ana main, I despise players who dont understand ram ult. I sleep the ram and my teammates immediately wake him up. I had a guy on rein tell me he did it since sleep is only 3 seconds on tanks and we should try to kill him, apparently not knowing his ult is ALSO 3 seconds and his shield can block it. The amount of people who have no clue how his ult works after a half a year is insane.
@sethescope

I don't think shields block Ram ult anymore. maybe I'm misremembering, but I think shields used to block the ult and then that was changed. if this is the case, then you might be a little bit of a silly goose yourself for not knowing how the ult works 100% :p but again, I might be wrong

@@sethescope No, they didn't change his ult THAT much. The only change to it was the max duration it can be up while in range of an enemy. It can still be blocked by shields. The only thing ram can do that shields can't deal with is punch

I’ve known. When I’m playing with a group; there are times where me & my other support will tell our Rein to drop shield and swing while we pocket so they & our dps can just all open fire and melt the Ram- IF the team’s health bars are full. If they’re not, we’ll call for shield instead & just pocket heal the Rein through Ram’s punches so we don’t lose them.

Ramatra's ult being blocked by Rein shield isn't really obvious, and I don't blame people for not knowing this. Ramatra has non-ultimate attacks that can go through shield, so it's not obvious his ult would act differently.
