My belief is respect, even if I know there are lots of flaws or things I don't like. And if we can speak calmly, I can tell them what's the problem with those religions. What I like about Buddhist dietary guidelines is that it's supposed to be in line with your ability. If you are poor and have access only to cheap meat-based food it's fine to eat that because it's a necessity, but if you are in a place where you can live healthily without eating animals, you are encouraged to do so.

i was an atheist too, i learnt about all religions, something special happened to me which made me start believing in god, life was getting a lot more comfortable and i was simply becoming a happier man, i had a really hard time since i live in one of the most F`d up places in the world, believing it god simply made me go through all these problems a lot easier and to this day i still thank god (if it even exists) for helping me, the only thing i can tell you is that you don't need a proof to believe in god if you aren't going to switch sides, nothing will make you convert unless you really look for god, because once you do, you'll find him everywhere. good luck

I've joined the meetings a couple of times and people are mostly chill, women don't usually cover their heads though they still dress modestly, did you know that many alevis actually believe an lgbt lifestyle to be okay? As one example, when a trans woman of the sect dies, another woman is tasked to wash her body. There are a lot of interesting facts that I could talk more about. About religious diet: I don't know if JWs do it too, but as a former Catholic, I learned that Christians abstain from eating meat on Good Friday because it's the day where Jesus sacrificed his flesh. So it's a tradition to eat fish instead. Not all Christians do that, but I know some who do. I think the funniest thing about this tradition is how desperate the church was to cheat by making up new dishes to "hide" the meat (like how the swabian Maultasche was created) or they just declare ducks and geese to be fish.😂

Yeah pork used to be riddled with horrible parasites, which over 2000 years ago would have been a problem, however nowadays youll hardly get those from supermarket meat, since most farms are controlling that kinda stuff, and most people have a normal stove to cook their stuff. Of course sth like beef and chicken can still contain bad stuff but it was probably easier to not get those

Similar reasons for the restrictions against shellfish. It can make you incredibly ill if not prepared properly. Most of the restrictions were made for food safety reasons. It's one reason why I'm not kosher, since the reasons aren't relevant with most countries food safety standards. For example, Finnish Evangelical Lutherans have a fast between Shrovetide Thursday and Palm Sunday and they are advised to avoid eating meat and consume dairy products in memory of Jesus. I apologize in advance, I’m not really the best at interpreting others’ emotions/intentions, but I just want to make things clear. As a Muslim female, I have only been taught about the specific and thorough rulings concerning females, and am not that an expert when it comes to the intricate rulings on me. Though, in general Shriah, the Awrah of a man is from the navel to the knees, while the entire body excluding the hands, face, and feet(there are differences of opinion among the four schools of thought for the hands face and feet). In any UNNECESSARY circumstances are we never allowed to display our Awrah openly. It kinda made me feel a bit uncomfortable seeing a comment (most likely) joking saying the sheik must have had some type of experience by saying what he said about not displaying your Awrah openly. We are commanded to respect others even when they are a part of ideals which are forbidden for us. In this day and age, yes, things like LGBTQ have grown more prominent, which is why what the sheik has said needs to be discussed at some point. Thoughts which can be aroused by this are indeed likely to come about more often. Muslims aren’t perfect(even as much as some may try to prove otherwise), and can get swept up themselves in such actions/ideas that can go against our teachings. That’s why it is best for us to keep away from things such as exposing ourselves unnecessarily in the first place, to lower the chances of unwanted outcomes occurring. Sorry for the long post, I just felt the need to get this out of my mind. But other than that, I really appreciate your take on this kind of show. I find your commentary pretty hilarious!

In Catholic Cristianity is not mandatory to not eat meat during Cuaresma (Sorry Im spanish idk how to say it in english) and is only on fridays. It's encouraged but most of us (mostly young people) don't do it because Its something that doesn't hold its true meaning anymore, because now It's not really a sacrifice to not eat meat,it is more an inconvenience

I honestly feel like they could do better with TaekwonHindu by talking about some Hindu rituals and having her practice some Indian martial arts, but I don’t hate how they are representing her as a Hindu in America. I feel like if my community had this show growing up, kids would genuinely understand why I can’t meat some days, why I have a little red dot on my forehead, and why I say “thank bhawgan” instead of “thank god”. Sure, it definitely needs a lot of work but it’s sort of getting its theme of equality done. Also: Ahimsa is a concept from Jainism, some hindus also believe in ahimsa but not all. The main reason why a lot of Hindus don’t eat meat is because we believe Brahman (god/life force, not to be confused with Brahma who is the god of creation) is in all living things, and by eating meat we are hurting Brahman. However, this doesn’t stop Hindus from eating other meats except for beef because we see the cow as the mother since she provides us with milk. A lot of Hindus actually don’t eat pork too because of regional differences, but most parts of Hinduism don’t say anything about pork.

In my neo paganism, eating a baby animal is not allowed. It's a new being and deserves to live its life into adulthood. So lamb for example or a calf are not allowed to be eaten. And animals have to be treated with respect.

One thing I learned is that some Hindus avoid halal meat because they consider ritual slaughter to be unnecessary cruelty to the animal, furthering the complicated relationship between the two religions. I was raised Catholic and one thing I was taught was that although it was not strictly enforced, eating meat on a Friday was discouraged for the same reason as it is during Lent.

I knew this. If a human (so not-perfect) hand creates human figures, it's offending, as no human can be so perfect as God Himself. I think it's quite extreme. I don't want to mock or imitate anything of God, as I know I can't be like Him. I just admire things He created and I put them on paper or canvas or make statues out of stone as a sorta of celebration of what I see. But it's the same for photographies too? On the other hand, this brutal law (because as a drawer myself I find it brutal) made Islamic art flourish with geometric complex figures, that are supercool. I find it really difficult, a real challenge, things that are more for a calculator than a human. And we can start again! ^_^
