Yup, I hated when they increased the health and protections for tanks. It made the game stall and it’s one of the main reasons why late game turns into some boring fights.

i was so far ahead in a match yesterday i was mid and i was 3 levels ahead of enemy mid. out farming him and farming him everything. but his whole team rotated 5 man ganked me he somehow got the kill and cought back up to me in levels off of it. from 1 gank

Yes everything is way too tanky which is a problem in smite, been like this for a long time. I can’t wait for this patch as long as it lives to what it’s supposed to. If you are positioned bad, you are supposed to be punished

We need scarier minions that scale better or the items that boost em need to be better. Minions are only scary lv 1-3. Unless you get a fire wave they’re only there to allow more tower dmg.

tanks were already insane in assault, some tanks at least. need to try the patch out tho me and my friend no life assault getting 3 tanks basically won you the game if they were high damage tank. mages were broken too. assassins were awful, but im pretty sure this change makes more of them more viable again like hun batz and maybe awilix

My only concern with the revert is the viability of tanks in the new reality. If base damage matters again its gonna be great, but if tanks are just die bots because the ADC/Mage damage is too high, then the game is in a bad spot.

We should be able to buy more than 6 items maybe 10 or 12 items with less impact pr item but also we could play 30 + min games and still buy items. And atm it feels like after 30 mins you just instakill squishies.

Smites direction has been " moba for dummies" for years now. that's why they wrecked gods like Persephone because people couldn't bother to dedicate a couple hours to learn her better. It's essentially a very dumbed down game in almost all it's aspects. Wave management ( you'll never see strats like freezing in the laning phase Skills- an insane amount of big aoe skills that can very early on wave clear extremely easy and make it very hard to get punished, also there's a ton of dashes and jumps and gods that overextend are very easy to get away while in other mobas you'd really need to watch your positioning while you were warding as supp for example Xp system is ridiculous and very forgiving to players playing bad, you can fall massively behind and still get a ton of xp for a single pick you got only an assist if the enemy player is high lv, i was watching content creator cup and idavy was 14 lv supp while enemy supp was 19 and most players were 18-19 lv. His team found a couple kills in the team fight and he instantly got 3+ levels of xp. This is absolutely idiotic design.

Omg yesss, I really agree with your point about the skills. Some gods have insane mobility plus it looks so much worse in Smite 2. Neith out of nowhere being able to leap over walls, Ymir having a crazy dash with the wall, kuku having a whole dash with movement speed which is crazy and forgiving, they've made it too focused around people that are bad at the game instead of creating interesting kits that require learning and skill.

also don't forget farming and eco. no last hitting, items are way cheaper than the other competitive mobas, and passive gold generation is also way more forgiving than dota and league comparatively which leads to no true late game. and people wonder why smite's player base are full of casual players.

@@Ryuno_Ace yes they were never very careful with their numbers. And sadly they don't seem to have learnt absolutely anything from s1. They copy the tower plating from lol but they don't understand the context of the game it's far easier to punish the mid early in lol compared to smite in which this kind of thing will just encourage mids to passively farm in their lane a lot more compared to lol in which there's a ton of objectives early to contest and you can't afford your mid to hug his tower

Smite season by season was dumbed down so much. I remember playing beta or season 1 where gods felt like gods. I wish they went further and reduced base protection tenfold.

He's excited because for once Hirez aren't pivoting completely and are actually doing what they said, focusing more on creating a healthy competitive community. However Hirez will never achieve what they aimed with 9.5 if the casual and new player experience is in the state that it currently is. We need people to not be coddled for bad plays but proactively incentivized to be better. Doing it in Smite creates the perfect opportunity to perfect it in Smite 2. Smite one can be used for pretty much all testing, the limitations they have are more or less cosmetic.

Andy has always had good opinions around Moba's. If Smite 2 wants to be good, they need to cater to the actual Moba players and not the casuals. Stop making these games for everyone and keep your core audience happy. I also think 9.5 will be a great change and I hope they take a deep look into this and look to transfer this to Smite 2. I also think we shouldn't complain when this actually drops. This will be new, and people will be dying really fast for the first time in years. We need to keep sending actual feedback to make the game better and make this patch. It all starts with you guys the content creators.

Didn’t their announcement of reverting come with the announcement of applying that new feedback to smite 2 as well? I haven’t kept up with smite much, so I’m not too positive about much of anything outside of the game isn’t as fun or satisfying as it was 2-3 years ago

Hi-Rez have previously released info and the most popular game modes are 1) Arena 2) Joust 3) Conquest. Oh and more people play unranked than ranked. Making changes for the "casuals" is making changes for their core audience. People wanting competitive conquest changes are actually in the minority when it comes to Joust. Because it appeals to more than the core moba fan base.

@@ACBongo I just disagree man. Its alright to have arena and joust in the game, but balance changes should not be made around these game modes. Casuals will be causals, and I am assuming even if it is the higher player count these same players dip in and out of the game. The core audience is the MOBA mode. Players who learn what each item does, learn power spikes, learn rotations, and much more. Every other MOBA balances around the core game mode (which is conquest). Every other MOBA holds their audience with changes and new mechanics. We added passives to tier 2s. Something that the community hated and smite has the lowest numbers in years because of stale patch after patch. The casuals don't care, they come to hop in for a game or two of arena. So why balance around them?

COD, fortnite, etc. These are party games, game for fun and the pvp is generally casual. Smite, dota. league on the other hand are high skill ceiling games. They require more attention and knowledge to really get into and play. So yes, they should cater to being a competitive game first and foremost. Go play a casual game if you dont like it. Go complain about BRs catering to comp players, cuz BR games will NEVER be competitively viable games due to the inherent RNG aspect of simply LOADING IN.

my big issue is how dependant smite is on pots, how little skill is involved in farming minions and how pathetic towers are, in league yes potions are important but it doesnt feel like you need 4 of them to do well in lane, the early game is way slower and more calculated, i think the best way to fix things is make the overgame god base SLIGHTLY less tanky (bigger impact on non tanks so that tanks still stand out) and then make minions do slightly less damage but have a lot more health so that was farming minions feels calculated and skillful like in league, in league csing (farming minions/creep scoring) is not the easiest and theres a lot of skill and timing involved because if you dont last hit the minion you only get the xp not the gold, in smite you just farm for free and get a ton of xp and gold anyway when they die nearby and towers in league are great because if you dive early with jungler you have to do it correctly or you WILL die, in smite theres so much room for error its insane, oh and one more thing, i feel like gold furies and its upgrades should maybe be a bit more impactful because in league getting a dragon soul feels great but in smite the gold furies and all its better versions arent that massive, i do LOVE the addition of the bull demon king as it adds a pre fire giant obj thats worth fighting for

Smite is dying hard and fast sadly... Hi-rez is just taking one desperate reach after another. They slapped all the long term players in the face with dumping all their resources into smite 2. Smite tries to base the game around competitive conquest but they constantly set that to the side to cater to new players while contradicting that by making the game drastically different every couple of months with zero consistency. I'm not an unemployed teenager anymore and studying the newest changes and recipe items thrown in just to realize that desperate reach was another mistake to take them back out is getting old. Here's to the next hail Mary they attempt when they see another dip in active players... I've played Smite on and off for 8 years and I never ask friends to download it and join me, its brutal and toxic to new players. I could be on a lonely island with these opinions.

It's so obvious that this dude is a Dota player because he can't fathom the idea of playing a role whose point is not to kill the enemy. In Dota supports don't exist, what they have are damage dealers with crowd control; in smite on the other hand we actually have supports, characters whose objective is to defend allies and disrupt enemies, thus I don't see the point of him showing two supports taking ages to kill each other it would be like me taking a fish out of the water and calling it an idiot because he can't breathe, it inherently doesn't make sense because a fish is not supposed to breathe outside of water just like a supp is not supposed to kill. On that note I also dislike the idea of "playing any role in the support role(assassin, mages, etc..)". Genuently I ask why would I ever play a guardian supp if I can go as an assassin and still be an effective support AND get tons of kills too? It makes the guardian class obsolete and turns the game into an arena simulator where all you want to do is kill other players. Squishies/solos being squishier tho I like.
