It hurts so much watching these old rigs just get scrapped. It would be awesome, being you have such a reach and so many followers, if you could let us all know the things you come across. And if any of us within that reach can come and harvest or save whatever is needed before its death, that would be awesome. I know someone out there is going, I've been looking for that fender or grill or whatever, for years. And in this age of being green and me hating to see our past go to waste, it would be great if y'all could start something like that. But I love seeing you guys clean up these areas no ones touched in years. I have areas near where I hunt that look identical and have been that way as long as I can remember. We were using skid steers to lever off this bank so they could plant grass. It was about 30ft tall. We have been up and down it all day. About 2 hours before we were to quit I was at the top. I turned to go back down. I looked and seen a wheel rolling down the hill. I thought “That looks like my wheel”. It was and I rolled all the way to the bottom in a barrel roll. Thank goodness I had my seatbelt on. Still broke 2 finger, 3 ribs and one hell of a headache. The rental company said when they did maintenance they must have not tightened all the bolts. There is like 30 of them on each wheel lol.

Ohh yeah, I used to work with cars being imported from US.. Driven quite a few cool cars and vehicles.. Ambulances, offroaders, supercars.. One day we got a 2020 camaro, front end damage but rebuilt to be able to atleast drive, noticed the slicks immediately, opened the hood, tons of aftermarket stuff, trunk had ethanol system installed... Got curious so decided to start it and possibly move it to the parking spot instead of having one of the boys use a forklift... Sounded insane, probably close to a 1000 hp, definitely a drag build... I barely touched the gas pedal and it was flying.. And at that point I realised one important factor.. It probably had a parachute, cause the brakes didn't work at all (tiny things only for stopping at the start line).. After some really tricky driving to slow myself down and not crash, I parked it, locked it and came back with shaking hands 😂😂😂

at a certain point there would be more stuff to be fixed then is even on the car, sure you had some body pieces and its original. but to renovate that, like 90% would be new stuff, it was done. at that point you might as well piece together a new car from new parts and make it look like that. that was beyond repair worthy. sure they could of pulled off any good parts, but the build it self was not really workable.

@EldestSapling2 жыл бұрын
@@oliverroedel1111 While all true. There are several problems that make those trucks not worth saving. 1. Someone has to get them off that mountain without destroying them. Dave could have done that, but it's much more work than pushing it down a hill. 2. Someone is not going to pay more that 2k per truck if we are being generous. 3. Yes titles can be acquired, but it is a significant process for a no value truck 4. The people with the money to restore these vehicles is likely not located anywhere near this place, and they will have to be transported which has its own set of problems. 5. Even if Dave just hauled them into town and tried to sell them it's a hassle to do that as well. At the end of the day. Either Dave scraps these trucks or they sit and keep rotting.

oh ya the frame and few peices of the body totally could of been restored.... the biggest thing on those cars was the cab of one truck. you aint going to use a rotted frame, or the engine for that matter. they were like 5% actually restorable things. the amount of restoration needed, like 95% of the truck needed replacing, you have a bit of the cab and side panels. it would of been cool if the pulled of the good peices of body. other than that, you would be replacing every single other piece of that truck because it was just rusted to no functionality. old trucks are cool i get it, but some are beyond sensible repair. restoring these would be 5% original replace everything else. its not really restoring at that point

23:05 That excavator wants to move and there ain't nobody that's going to tell it different. That machine is a dam BEAST!!! Looks really good for being that incredibly old!!! I want to say that excavator is at least 40 years old,,,, maybe older. But definitely in great shape. Seems like them machines are pretty much bulletproof as long as you keep up on basic maintenance.

I loved watching the PLS be utilized again as it is very versatile vehicle. We used them in Bosnia to great affect. Just for your information the HEMMIT was only 4 axle it did not have the rear steering that the PLS had. Great video!!
