Such an interesting episode! How do you think the heist will go?
@TedoMD2 жыл бұрын
It’ll definitely be a crap show. I foresee Andor and a couple others living towards the end of this mission, highlighting the huge risk these runs go. Because despite good planning, nothing ever goes smoothly. And that’s especially true in Star Wars.

He has seen light speed, he just was talking about he'd never seen that model of ship do it before. Also he chose the name Clem because his "father" was named Clem.

6:43 Love how terrifying the Tie fighters sound in this show just pushing their iconic sound to the extreme. They've always had that iconic sound but this is the first time we've really been scared of them.

Senator mon Mothma is in both Rogue1 and the OT as the main leader of the Rebel alliance. At this point she's not openly against the Empire yet though, only secretly.

Luthen is such a cool character. I really liked his little transformation where he takes a moment to get into character. Definitely helps give it that spy movie feeling.

It’s more than a theory: the show runner, Tony Gilroy, specifically said the structure is three episode arcs. They even have specific directors doing three episodes each, so we get to spend almost a movie’s length with one director.

They filmed the Aldhani arc in Scotland. It's gorgeous! I really want Dedra and Weenie together!

2:28 Cassian was drafted into the empire as a teenager. He says he was dispatched to Mimban which is the same planet you see in Solo: A Star Wars Story where Han Solo is fighting as a solider in the mud. Both Han and Cassian were dispatched on that planet at the exact same time with the same type of role in the imperial military.
@jmhaces2 жыл бұрын
I believe Cassian has in fact seen a hyperdrive before and he was just surprised that this specific ship had one. I guess it's too small or that specific model usually lacks a hyperdrive, which would make sense in keeping with Luthen's "things aren't what they seem" m.o.
@ISavant2 жыл бұрын
i mean you can't really travel the galaxy without a hyperdrive, it's likely he's just never seen a ship of that size/class with a hyperdrive

@@ISavant 1:43 he says " i've been in a fondor haulcraft, flown one. Never seen one do that"

@@robertreynolds930 Yep! It might be a military-grade hyperdrive, instead of the standard one for that haulcraft..., maybe.
@kyrosv1289 Жыл бұрын
At the beginning of the episode, I think that Cassian meant that the spacecraft was special because of the acceleration or "something more". He must have for sure seen an hyperdrive. No worries ;)

They filmed the Ahldani parts in Scotland I believe and they filmed at a real Dam there too just added some Star Wars bits to it
@pseudonymousbeing9872 жыл бұрын
Yep. Cruachan Dam. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw the reveal trailer with the concept art of the dam heist model which looked exactly like Cruachan. Even more unbelievable that I actually got to see it all in person and stood where Stellan Skarsgård stood by his ship. Mental.

Just wanted to say it’s always crazy watching things for the first time then rewatching these movies and shows not getting the same satisfaction as the first time but watching your reactions/unique take on the trilogies and series is refreshing and kinda gave back the feeling of watching them for the first time again! Great videos and glad you’re enjoying Star Wars as a whole
@pseudonymousbeing9872 жыл бұрын
You wondered where they filmed it, the mountains specifically. It's Scotland. Home sweet home. It was mainly filmed at Cruachan Dam, although I don't know where the sheep farm area was precisely. But the dam is the dam lol, it's open to visitors. I took the short hike to the set and even got photos of what turned out to be Luthen's ship. So awesome, and even better now that I know I stood on the same ground as Stellan fucking Skarsgård! You can visit and see it easily, all the mountains are right by the road and it's a short walk up the hill to the dam too.

Med Nog is a healing agent that they introduced in this show. But it seems consistent with common healing practices in the galaxy. You drink it to help heal internal damages and infections. There are a few similar substances throughout Star Wars, with Bacta being the most common. Obi-Wan, Vader and Luke all spend time submerged in Bacta tanks during various times of their stories. Obi for instance heals most of the burns Vader gives him in a matter of hour, so its very powerful. Another very common thing are healing stims or stim packs, which is diluted bacta given as an injection that can quickly heal smaller wounds and reduce swelling. Most of these healing agent are derived from a substance called Kolto which could only be found on a single planet called Manaan. The Sith Empire and The Republic schemed and fought over Manaan thousands of years ago during The Old Republic since it was such a valuable resource. The galaxy did later on learn to synthesise Kolto which essentialy became Bacta. Sorry long rant about a very little thing that i find intresting. Great reaction! its fun to see your point of view on everything Star Wars!

There are so many details in Andor that are very easy to miss. Like the name Clem which was the name of his adoptive father as seen with Maarva and mentioned last episode that the Empire hung him. And the Battle of Mimban? You saw a part of it in Solo when Han fought for the Empire in that mud. I wonder if Han and Cassian could meet back then. Im absolutely invested. Just 14 more hours till episode 6 which im guessing is the finale of this arc? Cant wait

Lt. Blevin is cut throat, and we hate him for it. On the other hand, Lt. Dedra Meero is also climbing the ladder of success within the ISB...but for some reason we are rooting for her. He's a bad guy, and she is too, but we "feel" for her (great writing). We have sympathized with her...and want her to survive...but REALLY she is still a "bad guy"...for we are Rebels (as viewers). We have bought into the protagonist...for we know what he becomes. Nemick (sleepy boy) and Skeen (the cousin on the Hulu TV series called The Bear...in that show we see how amazing he is as an actor) the shifty eyed companion...talks about three groups that would have shot Nemick for sleeping on duty. Because he mentions Saw Gurerra's group in the three, we can surmise from this that the other two are of similar ilk. The idea of plugging in a NEW man THREE days before a heist is really crazy. We really loved how Vel played it off and said that she hadn't said anything to this point...for she wasn't sure he'd make it. Very interesting. About Syril Karn and where he is going. The way that the architecture of the planet...we thought it was Coruscant, but others have been saying that it might be Hosnian Prime (the future site of the government in the Sequel trilogy). The introduction to Syril's mother was quite surprising. She's impulsive, but you can still see that she loves her son, but on HER terms. There is definite history between the two of them. Oh, boy...we are in for a treat. BTW, the actor who plays his mother is the Squib in the Harry Potter movies near the end...dealing with the Dementors in Little Winging. 1/2
