It’s a show about teens…..not a teen show.
@gooperrs5 күн бұрын
its honestly so perfect you made this video as I was just appreciating this scene so much on a rewatch last night. I'd love to see you break down an equally important scene in my eyes, in e6, where Nate and his mother are having a conversation about how his behavior and attitude changed so suddenly (obv referring to before and after he viewed the tapes) and how she has no idea why. You can hear Nate softly muster up the words, "I feel like you're trying to say something without saying it," and it's easily displays Nate as one of the most nuanced and tragic characters in TV history.

Besides all the unrealistic teen lifestyle, the overwhelming sexuality and showing of nudity (besides the “necessary” ones for a message), and the cringe moments, euphoria is a great show.

The “Unrealistic teen lifestyle” is pretty accurate to some teenagers’ experiences. If you’re someone that goes to house parties, substance user, or just listening to high school gossip. I grew up and went to schools with children of wealthy families and the stuff they got away with and even thought about doing was wild. I remember riding in a care with four other people and two in the backseat trying to keep a kid from ODing on his way home. We dropped him off and told his mother (her and hothead husband were on the board for the university in my state). A lot of the wealthy kids have these types of lifestyles, which is nice to see because it’s usually generalized that it’s the poor people that use substances and engage in these activities, but it’s also the wealthy people; they just get away with their crimes. As for nudity and overwhelming sexuality, these also happen and are heavily talked about by high schoolers. Many queer people “have to resort” to meeting strangers/older people for their sexual experiences even if the state/school/environment is welcoming. It’s not ideal but it happens. But yes Nate’s situations are exaggerated to an extent but people also have meltdowns like Nate’s dad and say that same BS about their masculinity etc.

It was never meant for actual teen audiences like most HBO shows. Just cuz its based in lives of “highschoolers” does not make it a teen show lol it explores such dark and heavy themes I think it should be avoided by teens 💀 but to each their own I guess
@d1g1cxlt_Күн бұрын
it's not a teen show. it's a show about what some teenagers do when they don't have much supervision. It's to scare parents into doing better.

As if parents were not teenagers once....... So what's the message to the parents, that your kids get older and do whatever they want with or without your permission!!??

Awesome vid!!! Season 2 had such odd decisions that I found it hard to celebrate it, but this arc was satysfing and surprising when I first saw it. After The Idol it´s become easy to take Levinson for granted, but there was a time after S1, with the in-between season episodes from the pandemic, and with Malcolm and Marie, in which I was definitely a fan and really hyped about what he was doing! And so were most people as I remember! Hope he gets that recognition back. Awesome viiid

This is the first video I’ve seen from this channel and I’m really impressed by how in depth and well written this analysis is. Euphoria is a very flawed show, but it does have its moments where it shines and it’s nice to see more people talking about it, since I feel like Euphoria analysis vids are kind of rare.

Only a few days ago I finished this series once again for the first time since it dropped. While it certainly has it flaws, I absolutely loved these 2 scenes. Ironically I looked up analysis videos for these but nothing came up. A real shame since they show so much character regarding to Rue and Caleb, sometimes a hard watch since it felt so personal. Really glad you out of all 'cinema' KZbinrs decided to post this. Loved the video!

I would totally watch you analyze more scenes from Euphoria. I respect all of the criticism the show gets, but I agree that it has moments of greatness. Rue's scene that you briefly mentioned is, in particular, one I feel was written and acted incredibly well. Watching it was honestly extremely difficult for me, as my younger brother was an opiate addict as a teen, and Rue's breakdown felt more like a flashback to my real life than just a scene from a show.

Hope u can do a video on Nate Jacob’s…he’s my favorite character in the show, not condoning his actions but he’s more than the typical jock as the show progresses we see his layers get peeled back and it’s amazing to see what an actor can do.

Fucking shame we are never going to get a 3rd season. Felt like it needed one to wrap it up in a nice knot.

We are getting a third season omg so many tabloids have lied on the production because of the writers strike stalling development and some stalling from Levinson himself but they are set to film the third season in the first half of 2025 and HBO has had to come out and confirm this at least two times now. Like it IS happening.

Are these videos AI generated or something? The way you talked about the Zendaya scene then suddenly swapped was really odd, and you constantly mispronounce names as though you've never even seen what you're referencing

@lancelloti.4 күн бұрын
wtf, which name is being mispronounced? I admit that might be something I don’t notice because English isn’t my first language, so fair point. But what’s wrong with the cut from Rue’s scene to Cal’s? I’m literally comparing two similar scenes to illustrate a point, it makes perfect sense thematically. And in terms of editing, the cut works well; I even paid attention to the music and audio. Honestly, it’s frustrating to read comments like this.

@@lancelloti.Idk it just seemed like you were setting them up to compare in the video, but after the opening scene you kinda just dropped your referencing. Clearly I'm just a bit hung up from the Dune video, where every single name was mispronounced - it's got me being overly sceptical.
