It’s rare to see a short film where literally everything is firing on cylinders. Camerawork, writing, acting, cinematography, everything here was S-tier. Can’t wait to see more!
@irishboy1616Ай бұрын
I have to disagree tbh, the general story is well written and you don't really see the twist coming, but the writing was definetly lacking which make the pretty good acting not great in my opinion. Not a bad film by any means but definetly not as polished as it could be. Conversation just didn't flow very realistically.

In the last conversation, where he hugged his imaginary ex, i think it symbolized that he knows he isn't over her. He accepts it and still wants it, even if it's just in his head. It shows a side of moving on that people rarely talk about-how you become accustomed to the pain, the regret, the "what ifs," and the endless scenarios. Because even if it's all imaginary, it still feels real, as that's the only way to "talk" to the person now. And honestly, it sucks. I know this because I've been there and experienced it. But now, instead of running from all these emotions, I’ve started facing them, and slowly, they feel less powerful. What i realized is, "Moving on isn’t about never having a thought of that someone. It’s about having the thought and being okay with it, realizing it doesn’t hold power over you anymore."

That is so good! That quote is true about any kind of temptation, as well. Defeating temptation doesn’t mean not having temptations, it means having temptations and not reacting to them.
@barbie1999100Ай бұрын
I recently came out of a 5 year long relationship and whoever wrote this, has known the pain and joy that love brings. Truly captures the emotions post-breakup. How you still feel you are dating them even though you have broken up, they are still your bf/gf because it doesn’t feel like it has ended. You lose interest in other people. A part of them, maybe a part of you that thinks it can’t be happy without them, remains with you, talks to you and brings memories of times spent with them, the warmth in their embrace, the comfort of their words. As much as you want to move on and not think about them everyday, you are horrified by the idea of losing this feeling, forgetting them. So you hold on to it tightly and slowly you learn to live with it, this part of them or this part of you will always be with you. Even though it hurts, these memories are the only part of you I get to keep with me, I hope I never forget. It gets better, I promise.

What a beautifully tragic way to encapsulate what it feels like to be in love with someone you’re no longer with. A month ago I ended a relationship I was in and it was the last thing I wanted to do, but sometimes it’s not meant to be. And still nearly a month later I feel haunted constantly by my mind trying to hold onto her like Will holds onto Bren. It’s such a sad state to be in- but this film shows he can get over her and he will in time and it was such a beautiful reminder that life goes on and you have to “Will” yourself to persevere forward and allow yourself to live. That is how the wounds heal.

The scene where Will’s leaning on Bryn’s shoulder and she’s telling him “you don’t need to worry about anything, I’ve got you” really accurately depicts the way even the thought of them brings you this sort of comfort in tough times, even though they’re gone. That was so painful to watch but also the most intimate and powerful moment to me. Seemed intentional and it was well done. I broke up with someone about 2 months ago. There was care in the relationship, but he didn’t really love me.. the thought of him never brought me comfort after the breakup. I do not relate to this video at all, but I really appreciate how it was made because I understand it perfectly, even without having experienced it. Very well done

a very accurate and real depiction of being haunted while trying to heal (actively being blind to the fact that you’re actually a decent person who probably has a shot with “hannah’s” of the world but are being held back by an unrequited love that’s latched on like a parasite) … suffice it to say, this film really hit home.. 5 stars. top marks. and the writing!! one my favorite films of 2024.

Ok so I got this video recommended randomly to me, and all I can say is. AMAZING WORK. Spoilers Ahead: So I noticed stuff being off at around the 6 minute mark with the seamless transitioning between the two dialogues. At the end I was convinced that the story would be rather about loss than a prior relationship, so Bree not breaking up with him, but rather dying and him not being able to "move on" and enter a new relationship as his last one never "ended". That being said, this film STILL is incredibly impactful and overall just astounding. The acting, for a short film on KZbin, is immaculate. Great work!

Everything makes a lot more sense and feels more nuanced when you consider that Brynn is dead. Will gets mad at Lyle for telling him to just forget about her. I think Will and Brynn were in a long term relationship before Brynn died suddenly. Brynn obviously isn’t real, but that’s because she died, and Will feels guilty for “cheating” on her since he and Brynn were fine before she died. The scene with all three of them talking is filled with subtly nods that this happened. The conversation between just Brynn and Will after makes it seem like Brynn might have killed herself because Will talks about replaying a conversation in his head ( talking her off a ledge maybe?) In the beginning bathroom scene, Brynn places a lot of emphasis on “dying” and then shortly after we get the uneasy floor-shot where Brynn said he would be alone without her, which he is. I think we’re clued into Brynn being dead when Lyle asks Will if he’s dead shortly after.
