Basically a Road registered rally Car, love it, absolutely love it

Rally cars are all road registered. Even Rally1 cars that the pros use. They all have to be street legal. This is for two reasons. 1) Because they're going to be racing on public roads and pathways, so the vehicles need to be insured and covered in case they cause damage. The roads may be closed, but they're still public roads. 2) Because the cars have to travel from stage to stage and to do that they need to travel on the road and abide by road laws. In fact this is why the dude reading the notes is called a "co-driver" because often he'll be driving the car to give the driver a rest inbetween stages. In fact some drivers are too young to be driving on the road lol so the co-drivers take over inbetween stages. Of course many of the more purpose built rally cars would fail noise or emissions regulations. But they can bypass that by communicating with authorities.

Love that road- very very fast and that's a perfect car for it- surface is always a little slippy and really benefits from 4wd- you're only a few miles south of some amazing roads norrth of Newbury. What an amazing toy :) Love it.

I've had a ride in an Isuzu D-Max diesel that was Dakar spec (and it actually competed) and had a Holinger 6 speed sequential. I was used to fast Evos with dogboxes and + 200 kw at the wheels but that thing absolutely astonished me even though it weighed about 2300 kg. It was just a blur of gear changes.

Now to be fair, Rookie Racing (Akio Toyoda's personal race team & sort of Toyota's team to handle experimental stuff) is currently running & developing a GR Yaris using an Automatic transmission in the Super Taikyu Endurance Series. So who knows.. we may see an Auto box option for the GR Yaris / GR Corolla in the future.

I’m 95% sure its the reverse release as its a sequential, if you coming into a hairpin and slap the gears down u might accidentally put it in reverse so i think its the 1 gear lock out. Hope this helped

No, sequentials use dog teeth engagement instead of synchros. This means you can change gear just by interrupting the torque and banging the lever. Also means they need to be rebuilt more frequently due to the stresses going through the transmission during shifting. You can still use the clutch to drive "normally" though if you want to take it easy

Very NIce , a Budget version compared to the Full spec WRC1 race car at 460K obviously. This is the closest anyone will get to owning the real monster.

The Rally1 version itself is basically just a silhouette car (much like its Group B predecessor) with a bespoke space frame chassis & race engine. If we're talking about the actual full spec rally and "attainable" (around €200k is still A LOT) then we can compare it to the Rally2 version which still uses the road car's chassis & the 3-cyl engine.
