@@shaneludwig4847 You can definitely expect better groups from a shotgun though. I just put the new barrel on for the follow up video, just waiting for the chokes to come in. *Try putting 25 drops of non-newtonian fluid (oobleck- corn starch & water 50/50) on the shot. We use this trick for Geese hunting and the shot starts spreading out normally after it's about 250/330 feet out from the barrel. We get geese out to about 750' away with this tweak. It also acts as a SLUG for shooting bear at 300 Feet or less. Shot stays in one giant lump from the initial shock. NOTE: when you make the oobleck use 20% bleach in the water so the corn starch does not start to rot.*

@@357dayton *Non-Newtonian fluid (Oobleck) on your shot will give you 3X longer range but be warned if a Goose comes in too close you will blow it to pieces since the shot will be in one big mass!!! FOR LONG RANGE SHOTS ONLY! Yup! It really WORKS. It will cost you 2 bucks to try it out, what do you have to lose? Shoot a large paper target first so you can get an Idea of the spread pattern. Also make the 'Oobleck' with the exact same formula EACH-TIME or you get different results every-time. Just make sure you keep the gun powder DRY! I treat my shot about 2 minutes before shooting with a Syringe. If you want to make a batch of shells in advance you will need to open the shells and put the gun powder in a 2mil thick baggy heat-seal it and then reseal the shell after re-loading the shot with Oobleck. STORE and TRANSPORT THE SHELLS SHOT SIDE DOWN so the Oobleck does not run all over the primer for long term storage. Drip some hot wax over the stop of the shell to spot Oobleck from leaking out. I usually make them while I am reloading old shells. Good for those impossible 300 yard long shots LOL. Aim carefully! I use a green dot sight on the Weaver rail for these babies and it hits true and hard every-time! NOTE: Use in Semi-Auto shotguns only just in case you get a Oobleck barrel jam (I never had one yet). NOT FOR USE IN PUMP "gun powder" SHOTGUNS. TOO Dangerous, Over-Pressure danger with no way out!*

Dude!!!I I am a shotgun loader been doing it all my life. I'm going to suggest something you might think it's weird but it will help your grouping stay closer together buy some sheep's wool and tear a patch off that will cover the back of the pellets you are using. The shock hitting your ammo all at once is throwing everything off a 1/4inch thick wad of sheep wool will cushion it enough that it will help your accuracy it can be cork or cardboard I like sheepswool and have better performance with it. Just try it load your projectile then the wool behind it close n shoot. The air from the gun is like the powder going off

I'm really liking this air shotgun. I want it for home defense. I'm thinking maybe full auto with a 300 round drum would be good. Most crooks will haul ass once they hear you rack a conventional 12 guage. If a crook comes thru my front door, there is no racking on this air shotgun so, I'm thinking I'm going to have to switch to full auto and just get it on. No warning shot(s). The first full auto burst will be in his chest. If he's not down, he'll run. That's when he gets the balance of the 300 round drum in his back. Excellent review as always. Love your channel. Ignorance only lasts so long though. The one thing that is going to set things off, probably wont be a video, but rather a person using one in a crime. Theres one company that makes airgun moderators, "suppressors", essentially. Someone used one of their airgun parts on a firearm in a crime and the company was then raided by the ATF. These moderators are still not even classified as, "suppressors", by the ATF. That in itself is something to note. The states that want to classify these as firearms, cant. They send in the paperwork, but the feds cant process it as a firearm because it isnt a firearm. On the other hand though, if people are concerned these videos are going to cause an issue, my mentality is to get them into the hands of everyone who wants them before its restricted.

I think the moderator puts excess tension on the spring and causes premature wear. Optics can get in the way just a fraction, it will not feed properly with the least amount of obstruction. If the mag touches the optic, its not going to work. Aside from that, I cant really think of much else. People run into leaks but thats pretty common, a gauge needs tightening, degas screw, etc.

Many questions come to mind about this as a home defense weapon. To me, first and foremost is the amount of time the cylinder would stay charged while the weapon is put away in the home and if leaving the cylinder charged is bad for the seals and components of the shotgun because you don't want it uncharged in an emergency when it takes 30 seconds or so to fill it. In a life of death scenario, 30 seconds can be a lifetime. If nothing else, it looks to be a fun thing to plink with at the range.
@toxicmatrix1337
@toxicmatrix1337 3 ай бұрын
For these airguns, you want to leave them with air stored. You can have them topped off at max pressure, but I usually leave mine around 3000 to 4000psi. Pressure should hold, if it does drop over time, a leak is present and needs to be corrected. You'll get drop offs when you fill, heats generated from the fill, and you'll lose about 100-200 psi when it cools. Slower fills will help prevent the loss, when filling transfer tanks, some people put them in water to cool as its filled.
@laurenceperkins7468
@laurenceperkins7468 3 ай бұрын
You do need to check on them since they do tend to run down slowly over the course of months. No seal is perfect after all, and valve designs to minimize leakage conflict with valve designs for rapid discharge. But they're designed to be stored charged since if the tank runs completely empty you'll get moisture and dust migrating in. Same reason you shouldn't run your propane tank all the way dry. Big thing for home defense is that they work on, at *most* 1/10th the pressure of a typical firearm. So you need a much larger package to get the same amount of power. That's... inconvenient. But still better than just a sharp stick.

I had a S&W Governor with a 4" barrel I believe. The spread with buckshot was deeply concerning. There's a reason pistols are the platform they chose when the shotgun came to be. The blitz would probably destroy itself on helium unless you are upgrading the internals. The Zeus cylinder may fit but it would probably need an adapter. Youd still only be able to fill it to the operating pressure of the Blitz, 3625psi. The only benefit is that youd get more rounds off before recharging.

Might not mind owning one - BUT would not buy one without trying it first. You mentioned full automatic. I would not buy one. I've fired full auto and after the first round you are off target. It takes a LOT of practice, and ammo, before you can be even reasonably accurate with full auto. I can fire a semi auto rifle quite rapidly, AND I am able to keep it nice enough on target. If I want multiple projectiles going down range at once, that is why I have a 12 ga pump shotgun. I do have a number of C02 rifles and pistols, and a few air rifles and pistols. Fun, cheap to shoot, and you can shoot in areas where firearms are not allowed.

So, with the bird shot shells, I would want an even larger pattern. I would never consider them for self - and home defense. One thing, might be the type of casing, the pellets and slugs are in. It's like a capsule, and it may have some sort of effect on the spread of the shots. Maybe try firing a single slug, and see what sort of energy you get from 1 instead of 2-3. Other things like 'wadding,' behind the slugs, may add to the energy.

Shotguns operate at low pressures compared to rifles. So my guess is you need a longer barrel or lower power when it comes to the spread. I know having a choke will effect how it leaves the barrel. My refill time on the big tank from my compressor is 15-20 minutes, relatively quick. I actually just put together a cascade filling setup today. I have two bigger tanks, the one in the video is 74cf, these two are 97cf inline together. Tons of air ready to go. I heard that a 3000psi scuba tank has 1,300,000 ft/lbs of energy. So, my house could be a crater one day lol

@@toxicmatrix1337 Wow, that sounds really cool with your setup, but that being said, it sounds like it will get pretty costly buying all this extra stuff to keep the gun operational at first, it's not like you can buy the gun and shoot all day with out all the extras. So do you have a price list on all these items? And on your video 27.50 for10 rounds...ouchy, so we're talking 3 bucks a shot...lol..if I pop off 100 rounds for the day that's a 300 dollar day, can I make my own rounds? ANd don't turn your house into a crater ....lol

@@TheAirheaded1 The good thing about the tanks is you can find some solid deals. You definitely dont need a brand new tank, they last 15 years up to 30+ for some new ones with a different standard. You have to retest them every 5 years, so there will be people who get rid of good tanks that need a 30 to 50 dollar test. Pay for the cylinder pressure test and you get a much cheaper, good tank. My larger tanks were around 850 each. The smaller one I have, I inherited but it goes for about 550. The compressor was 1500, but you can get nearly the exact one for 600 on amazon. The unit I use is a chinese model that various companies take and build out how they want and ramp up prices. So you can get the same thing with less "add on" parts and save 900 dollars lol. The filters are cheap for the basic ones, if you arent in a humid climate, a basic filter is probably fine. I grabbed a sieve, but I live where its sweating all the time from humidity. I went all out on that, it was 400 I believe, but if you ever got a sieve it needs to be a high quality one. Some are much cheaper but they can degrade over time from acids and become dangerous. The compressor should be viewed as ammo cost, its basically providing you a supply of gunpowder if this were a firearm. The price is jacked up for some of the shotloads and the massive slugs. The shells are made one by one and are still being developed, but when it comes to the molds, you can save a ton on the big slugs doing it yourself. When I started off with 1 pcp and my first fill setup(compressor, 1 tank, no sieve) that was 2500 to run one gun. Now I have about 20, so the cost is much less to supply air broken down per gun. With a used tank and the amazon unit thats the same as mine, it woud be closer to 1000 dollars to fill anything youd want. The cost of the PCPs is going to dwarf that number lol!

As a New Jersey resident. I’m probably better off with an actual shotgun. Watched the entire video nonetheless. Keep experimenting.

Im at least going to be trying out the 72 cal smoothbore version soon. The problem with the spread here was the barrel ended up being rifled. If I ran slugs in this, it would be devastating though, just didnt have any in that size. If someone is into muzzleloaders, this thing is night and day compared to how dirty black powder is. The power is near the max level of BP as well, only the most packed full of powder loads rival it.

When you said it spreads like the governor, I was wondering who that was. Then I realised there must be a weapon by the same name.

Is it dangerous to leave the tube charged with air? Or is this something that you would have to fill up before use?

For PCPs, you want to leave them stored with air. You could leave it full, I usually leave mine at around 3000 psi and then top off before I use them.
