This should be Illegal!

E-Bike rider caught on Nicklin Way (into Currimundi QLD) riding an unregistered (no visible plates) electric motor bike on the wrong side of the road, over the medium and through traffic.

Pretty sure it IS illegal. Riding on a public road with no plates and in a very dangerous manner. Shown this to the police ? They may have an idea who this idiot is already.

Electric bikes fall into a grey area but its not just riding in traffic its the fact this rider was on the wrong side going against traffic, they rode over the dividing island and passing traffic on the hard shoulder and popping a wheelie at the end, all things that are illegal even on a pushbike. This was dangerous and stupid actions which could have hurt or killed someone or them selves.

YA IT IS ILLEGAL. CANT PASS ON THE SHOULDER. ITS PROBABLY NOT A CLASS 3 BIKE HE IS USING AN OVER POWERED CLASS 4 BIKE. EVERYTHING HES DOING IS ILLEGAL. CLASS 3 BIKES CANT GO OVER 28 MPH.

You getting mad at him for having fun on his e-bike, is the equivalent of getting mad at a motorcyclist for lane filtering/splitting. Don't be hating on those e-bikes. Get one yourself. Then you can go and have fun on two wheels without having to register your ride.

Kill someone walking on the sidewalk? No. Hurt someone walking on the sidewalk? Possible, but not likely. So, what is he doing? He is being reckless, inconsiderate, and irresponsible. Those are the reasons he should be reprimanded, but until the law changes you will just have to get a bike and get over it.

@@edgeofentropy3492 No mate, doing 60 on an E bikerputs him in dangerous projectile territory, and is already illegal, if caught he can get up to $6000 in fines, + he is not insured and could easily do a few$1000 damage to a new car if he collides with one , that would be fun Who is to say he doesn't ride just as stupidly in the footpath? I have seen enough idiots already do that, + I have an an E bike and a road bike which i ride often and sensibly.

Watch the start of the video, he is riding against traffic, then he illegally rides over the traffic island and proceeds to pass traffic on the hard shoulder, do this with a petrol bike its illegal but this somehow is legal? As for nit hurting anyone, just wait until they hit someone walking or get hit by a car or truck.
