The sim racers mentality that we refer to it as it is just influencial kids / young teens copying their favorite streamers or E-sports sim racers. Until the companies that run those things & the team management gets these people to understand the influence they have & start acting more responsible with it & try to teach people to be competitive in a healhtier way, They could actually have a big impact.

I was just in a Falken Sports Cars race (GT4 and LMP3 at Red Bulls Ring), split 3 was almost as clean as you like. I ended with 2x off-track for avoiding, no contact, gained several positions cleanly, and even got waved by by a slower car on the same lap, and passed that favour along to some German speaking guy who was in the 1:36s like Dave Cam here (I was low 38s) Really hard, clean, respectful racing. My iRating went up by +77, and my safety rating by like +0.11 - fantastic race.

GT4 is a mess thanks to it being a 15min race, everyone is in a rush to gain places, I hope iRacing changes it to a 30 min race and C licence

i was the white bmw that just got through before the big hit on 20:14 did not slow down and got a lucky p6 starting from p11. works 1 out of 5 times👍🏾

Great race.. I did the race the other day, and loaded it to my channel, I started P10, and thanks to carnage and patience I ended up in P5. 1 incident point it was amazing… Love the videos keep them coming Dave.

Honestly since the big influx from covid the community standards have never been the same. Had to file 4 protests from one race the other day. Two for rejouns/attempted rams and two for lower classes trying to take me out in the braking zone.

As someone who organizes community races and has to deal out penalties and such, I really wish people would see the race starts (and restarts for that matter) as just getting the race underway instead of an opportunity to jump/divebomb the guy in front of you. Sure, you might not gain a position, but you also won't ruin the race for other people either. The number 1 rule should always be "don't be THAT guy" but there are just way too many people who are willing to be that guy every time.

In my opinion rolling starts need to be revised a bit and adopt rules they use in real racing like not overtaking before the control line, or however it goes. So many people try to gain spots at the start and it always chaos, every single time I've been crashed into on a rolling start it's been in a top split race. They could perhaps implement no overtaking under yellows too. People are just gonna keep doing this stuff if they can exploit it.

I think 4 out of 5 times I slow for an accident I get rear ended by the guys that don't. Sometimes it feels like you just have to roll the dice and keep your foot in it to survive. 50/50 at the best of times.

Not for a prolonged period of time. I always make sure I bleed off before I turn in 👍 But, I probably need to increase the force on my pedal as it's still not the most efficient

People always get tunnel vision when there's carnage ahead, and at the same time want to avoid lifting, let alone braking, to potentially gain as many places as possible... If there's carnage ahead, that already means free places. Don't be so greedy, and please check your surroundings before making any erratic movements.

When people race a lot, they can overcome their lack of racecraft. It’s pretty normal to see SR in the low 2’s. Watching your incident reviews those light taps send the cars more than it should. Racing different sims you can get away with that contact and not sending the car flying. Hopefully Irqcings new people will make the netcode better

Even though GT4s are one of the GT care I like the most, I'm not comfortable driving around these people. Not sure what the solution should be, but having people with D license and others that don't want to lose their A license, it's at the minimum tough. You can't race at the same standards.

Oh no, the one time I get featured in Dave's video is when I crash before the race even begins... I was the no. 12 Porsche, and yes, I did not slow down for the carnage I could easily see in front of me. Guilty as charged! It's stupid of me to have to relearn this lesson every few months or so, but yeah, slow down for yellows, guys. In the moment I genuinely thought I would snake my way through that. Obviously, very silly of me.
