I think this person would benefit A LOT from looking at the support comp and then adjusting their play style. at the end, for example, your team had Moira and Illari, both relatively short range supports. they can't heal you if you're separated from the team, not really. Moira could maybe throw an orb, but a whole orb just for one person who isnt with the team isn't necessarily a high value use of that ability. typically Moira will want to use a damage orb or use healing orb to benefit multiple people or for burst healing. Illari can throw a pylon for them, which was done at one point, but again, that's a whole pylon for ONE person. play with your supports or, if you're not able to due to needing to make a play away from them, play with health packs and any self sustain abilities you might have. and perhaps most importantly, have an escape route already planned out so you can escape back to the team. your supports should not need to go out of position to save you from yourself. if you get yourself in trouble and don't have an escape plan to get yourself within their LOS and within their range, THE RIGHT DECISION IS TO LET YOU DIE, NOT FEED WITH YOU. there are so many dps players who need to understand this. not all, not by a long shot, but so many do.

I agree with your advice. Btw, people, this advice serves for anyone, not just DPS. If you're playing Moira, for example, and your other support is Illari, and you have a Tracer or Genji or Echo or Reaper or any other flanker, maybe you could try swapping to someone who heals at a distance, like Kiriko, Ana or Lifeweaver. Don't play passively, don't expect people to swap for you. I'm not saying the supports were to blame in this video, I'm just saying that if you want to rank up, you should expect people who barely or never swap as your teammates, so do it yourself, take more responsibility. Be the change and try to carry your team. There were so many times I won by just doing that, even as a support (I'm a support main), when the match seemed impossible before and it would have been easier to just complain about my tank or DPS and not try to carry the match myself. Sure, it's not gonna work anyway sometimes, but it is absolutely going to work at other times, so what do you prefer: a small-to-mid chance of winning or zero chance?

this advice is very good for those who are wanting to climb.. the people in your rank, (whether it's silver, gold, etc) have the same skill level and awareness as you. you yourself have to adjust and be more aware of what your teammates are doing, what the enemy team is doing, and most importantly what you are doing. it's a team game you can use the stupid things your teammates are doing to your advantage to win the game. for those who solo que id recommend turning vc and texts off because i know how difficult it gets to focus on the game when someone isn't focused on their own role and it just throws the whole game for everyone. focus on yourself, on the role you are playing, and what yourself can do to win the game. you can climb to plat and diamond with just basic game awareness

this game feels like its in slow motion. especially 7:25 Also I noticed on soldier, he doesn't stop shooting when he's moving his crosshair between targets. That's one mechanics thing that's easy to improve, try to only shoot when you think it will hit your target. And if you play flick-type heroes like Cass or kiri, a related mistake is shooting at the max fire rate instead of shooting when you're ready to shoot.

Watch them aim for Lucio around 27:50ish. That's their actual aim when their aim assist hasn't picked up a target lol. It is hard to aim with sticks but man I hate aim assist so much--accidentally wrote a rant about it lol. I usually don't watch any of Emongg's reviews of console players, because it's like watching a different game (I also am not interested in his chat saying "iS tHiS cOnSoLe? HaS tO bE!" in my periphery all video). Stayed for this one cuz it was funny. Playing against people using PC gyro controller with aim assist is why I stopped playing Paladins. I get that people need to have an advantage but...last time probably half a year ago or something, most of the top 20 players were using a controller on PC. Aim assist is affected by framerate and it works better the higher your framerate is. Consoles have locked framerates. PC games typically don't. Overwatch is tolerable, but Paladins has a smaller playerbase and to "make ranked better" they changed ranked from M+KB and Controller pools being separate, to mandatory crossplay across all input types. So in Paladins you can play against PC ximmers in ranked. Obviously that's not that common, but two equally experienced players, on a map with little high ground, one mkb, one controller with aim assist--the controller player has an advantage for most of the sightlines if they play a hitscan hero whose rate of fire isn't too bad, doesn't have to be an AR or SMG. Reaper/Cree type shots are good too. The Widow at the start of this video looks so dang bad because in addition to awkward positioning and actions, they are playing a hero with too slow a rate of fire for aim assist to really impress us. Crossplay is an option across all Overwatch game modes EXCEPT ranked. Paladins already had the bigger hitboxes and hurtboxes that today's Overwatch 2 update brought. But Paladins is a simpler game, and you can get it to run at 225+ fps on good systems with the settings turned down. It makes the aim assist feel and often look like cheating. The best part? What really turned me off? Watched a former pro console circuit player who was top 10 on the leaderboards about 9 months ago when this happened, and he was laughing about how none of the PC players can aim, how other pros are shit...making a lot of ego comments, being toxic to teammates, and match dodging. It just felt like bitter joking. But making fun of other players when it was the game's team's decision to force crossplay in competitive is weird. All the while it's like...how can you not accept that this looks and feels like cheating? No one blames the players for making the crossplay decision anyway lol. Like I get Paladins isn't as popular...but yeah. I hope OW never dies enough for them to make that stupid decision. Playing on mouse and keyboard with controller aim assist is already present. It requires spoofing your input to trick the game into thinking you're eligible for aim assist.

See only time I feel saying "I dont get enough healing" is necessary is when you play roadhog and double the supports healing on your team. Happened to me a few times lately, however when the enemy team called my supports out when the situation occured they stopped only attacking like they did the first round and healed and still managed to get way less healing than I self healed. ngl was a crazy game though XD

Around this time, I had a Widow in my Quick Play game complain about us all being too aggressive and not healing them enough. This was on Colosseo, and to put it in perspective, the fight was basically at the enemy side first point while our Widow was at the turn to OUR side first point. While the enemy was running a Tracer. I can't save my front line and worry about my Widow who's out in Timbuktu. Widow players, please understand that if you want healing, you either gotta find a health pack if you're so far out of our way or don't play into a clear disadvantage if you're being harassed by a Tracer way out in the backlines. Because we can't afford to turn around to save you when our Tank and other DPS need our Support a lot more than you do.

I’m a widow main, I pretty much never get healed. I’ve accepted it’s because I play far away from the rest of the team most of the time. So I just memorized where all the health packs are 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yea that’s what normal widows do, that’s what you’re supposed to do, it’s hard as supports to heal a widow because we then have to completely (in most situations) turn around leaving our team open to dmg, it’s a lot easier for the widow to get health packs when we’re in a fight than healing them. If the fight is over tho they should heal you if you are low ofc.

My God. Sombra was sooooo painful to watch. I use her and I'm no Main, BUT I play aggressive and don't die as Sombra. Sombra is used to flank and to take out either their support or make them loose focus. Hack their ults whenever possible or hack their healers. You got to be a pain in their a$$. Frustrate your opponent. That's your job.

This person has to learn to wait for, or position their crosshair where the enemy may be. Instead of trying to follow or trailing behind other people (I saw aim assist so I'm assuming this is console gameplay) the person playing widow could find high ground and create or seek off angles. They had the right idea with playing sharp angles through cover, but executed it poorly. I'm sure if they took the time to consciously play with positioning like that they could make a good widow or ashe. Edit; To follow up you should communicate more with your supports or try to maintain los with one/create escape routes. Think of it like how counter strike is played on defense. You should retreat to a new angle if you lose control of that position to set yourself up for a new fight, wait for your teammates to regroup. You don't have to always be front line or duel their dps, make supports a high priority target.

You don't need to hack with virus every time. All it does is make the virus damage faster but the trade off is you lose a bit of the element of surprise. Hack takes time and they'll react before you throw virus which can make it harder to connect. A good sombra will be able to kill with or without hack regardless. Depends on the situation

You can't really take anyone seriously who's stuck in bronze - plat. You don't even need good aim to get out of those ranks at all. Im a horrible aimer and im masters but all im good for is gamesense.. Thats why I play brig mostly xD.

I agree you can get to high rank without aim in OW but you do need good aim if you play a character that actually has to aim though.
